June 14th

The Royal Oak 'A' need just 2 frames to secure the Super League title against their sister team Royal Oak 'B'... I feel that there good enough to do this .. but you never know.. The Oak 'B' have Willis, Mills, Richards, Bassett and what's his name the quite lad...urmmm oh yes Mr Randle so they could easily batter the Oak 'A'.. Anyway the Baldies will be keeping an eye on the score as they take on the Pig & Whistle because they could still nick the runners up spot if they roast the Pig and the Oak 'B' slip up... So an interesting nights pool lies ahead... The Harun 'B' make a quick return to League One but i'm told they enjoyed the experience in the Super League, they are joined by Rovers who are relegated for the first time in their short history.... The Rascals have dominated League One this season with only the Rose and the Exiles managing to stop them winning all their games.... I think their find it a bit different next season if they enter.. the Runners Up spot is currently held by the Rose Inn but the Parade Potters just need 4 frames from their game with the Exiles to leapfrog the Rose courtesy of games won as there'll be tied on points and frame diff..

June 12th

Well done to Paul Wills and Rich Mills who rolled back the years to take the doubles title with a 5 - 3 victory over Lee Steptoe and Daz Henton... different gravy...

Rileys Rovers beat Exiles to win the Bowl and finally to the Pig & Whistle beat B.I.S.C. to win the J 'n' J Shield.. Its the doubles this Sunday, can all pairs be at The Parade for 7 pm .. Thanks....

May 5th

Super League:--  The Royal Oak 'A' beat Rileys Baldies 6 - 4 to maintain their 5 point lead over sister side Royal Oak 'B' at the top of the Super League.. Averages leader Ant Tedds on cue with another 2 frames plus 2 from Dave Lea saw the Arbury Road cueists home.. Karl White was the pick of the Baldies.. Meanwhile down at the Hare & Hounds the Harun 'B' were trying thier hardest to get the scalp of the Royal Oak 'B' surging 4 - 1 in front through Ric Foran, Michael Nixon, Jamie Walsgrove and Mark Williams. But the old heads of the Oak side brought them home, even with a combined age of 325 years there was no stopping Dave Alsop, Andy Bassett and Paul Willis from outpotting their much younger rivals.. Finally Rovers eased to victory over the Pig & Whistle 8 - 2.. Mark Chapman, Luke Cowap and Al Jones all with 2 wins...J
League One:- The Rascals had the chance to put some real daylight between themselves and the chasing pack but found Eliotts 'B' in fine form.. Two win from Mechelle Snounou plus wins from Danny Barr, Stephen and Samantha Snounou earned Eliotts a well deserved draw.. Averages leader Ian Worthington the top Rascal with 2 more eye catching displays.. (That'll be a pint Swerve)... The Rose moved into second place with an easy 7 - 3 victory over Eliotts 'A'.. Jamie Low, Kyle Allen and Rich Bradbury in the zone for the Coton Roaders... Finally B.I.S.C. looked set to register their 2nd win of the season as they raced into a 4 - 1 lead over the Exiles.. Phil White, Pete Wilson, Steve Green and Keith Taylor all in the zone for the Boro' Boys... But the Exiles responded through Kelvin Hains, Nick Smith and Matt Trigg before Keith Taylor put B.I.S.C. on the brink of victory.. But the Exiles had the Wizard on last so the draw was basically guaranteed... lol.. Fair play to the Exiles for a great comeback....

April 27th

Ric Foran of the Hare & Hounds 'B' was on cue last night winning both one frame Knock - Outs and £50 prize money.. Ric beat the Exiles star one framer Chris Foltyn in the first final and then beat team mate Mark Williams in the second final...

March 23rd

League One:-  The Rose Inn produced the performance of the weekend dismantling local rivals the Parade Potters 9 - 1... This eye catching performance has seen the Rose close the gap between themselves and the Parade to just a single point as they both battle for the runners up spot... The newly named Parade Miss-ers simply had no answer to the silky potting skills of Kyle Allen and co...lmao... Elsewhere Rileys Exiles remain in fourth spot after their 6 - 4 victory at Eliotts 'A'. Nick Smith and Chris Foltyn staring for the Exiles, Dave Glover winning both his frames for Eliotts again this week.. Eliotts 'B' were also in the winning groove beating Rileys B.I.S.C. 6 - 4.. Paul Barnett leading the Abby Street cueists out of the bottom two..
Super League:-- The title race took another twist this week as Royal Oak 'B' went down to Rileys Rovers and the Oak 'A' and Rileys Baldies both won. Just 5 points separate the top 3 side with 5 games to play, they've all still to play one another as well so who'll win??? Answers on a postcard to who really gives a to!!! Anyway Royal Oak 'A' return to the top of affairs after their 9 - 1 mauling of the Harun 'B'... Ric Foran beating Craig Smith in the final frame of the match to stop the dry rub.. Mark Chapman was in dazzling form for Rileys Rovers with a break dish and a clearance when his opponent had had a dry break.. Lee Steptoe had earlier done the same for the Oak when Steve Tedds had failed to pot a ball off the break... Paul Webb also notched two wins for Rovers who still remain in the bottom two.. Neil 'How lucky am I' Randle sneaked two frames for the Oak who slip to second spot.. Karl White and Shaun Orr were on cue for Rileys Baldies as they kept alive their hopes of a first title...

March 21st

Just a reminder there is a pool knock out at Rileys on Sunday 22nd March... 2pm start register before that... £10 to enter all rounds best of 9 frames to the Semis... Depending on entrants there may also be a first round losers competition... Sunday Presentation will follow about 7pm....

March 20th

The Dave Cooper Challenge Trophy and Rileys Bowl draws are now on line.... The Singles Draw is also now on line...

March 16th

Super League:-- The top two sides met this week as leaders Royal Oak 'B' entertained Rileys Baldies. The Oak made their home advantage tell by storming into a 3 - 0 through Andy Bassett, Ben Gilbey and Paul Willis. Rileys stunned their hosts by levelling the match thanks to Paul Gibbs and two wins from Shaun Orr. Rich Mills then won the next two legs putting the Oak on the brink of victory. A brink they soon crossed over with the Great Chicken Randle potting his way to the next frame. Karl White won the final frame for the Baldies but it will be no consolation as they slip down to third place. The Royal Oak 'A' put their heavy defeat to the Oak 'B' firmly behind them with a 7 - 3 win over Rileys Rovers. Break dishes by Craig Smith and Darren Henton the highlights of an easy night for the Arbury Roaders. The Pig & Whistle also returned to winning ways battering the Hare & Hounds 'A' 8 - 2. Steve Moore on cue to 7 ball Phil 'The Till' Sayer. This win moves the Pig into fourth place their highest ever league position..
League One:-- Leaders Rileys Rascals were caught napping by a fired up Rileys Exiles side who flew into a 3 - 0 lead through Andy Howkins, Chris Foltyn plus another spellbinding performance from the one and only Rob 'Wizard' Bliss. The reeling Rascals then moved up a gear, Ian 'Swerve' Worthington stopped the rot with a cool clearance under pressure before John Fletcher, Dean Clarke, Mark Seaman and Any Hopkins powered Rascals into a 5 - 3 lead. After such a promising start the Exiles were now facing a heavy defeat but  brothers Sam and Lee Howkins were in the zone to grind out the last two frames and earn the Ex's a share of the points. Second placed Parade Potters were also struggling as they entertained Eliotts 'A'. Rob Orton, Dave Glover and Kelly Thacker had put visitors into a 3 - 0 lead before Paul Amos and Carl Jefferson replied for the Parade. Rob Orton and Dave Glover returned to the table to win their second frames of the night to put Eliotts 5 - 3 up and on course for a shock win. But the Parade dug deep and took the final 3 frames of the match Paul Amos with his second win of the night Ian Wilson and finally landlord Graham Amos clearing to secure a hard fought draw. The Rose kept their slim hopes of promotion alive with a comfortable 7 - 3 win over Eliotts 'B', Rich Bradbury Jamie Low and Luke Alcock all winning 2 apiece for the Coton Road boys with Danny Barr using his night off from Train spotting well with 2 wins for Eliotts....

March 11th

Dave Cooper Challenge Trophy:-- Holders Royal Oak 'B' breezed into the quarter finals without dropping a frame against an out of sorts Pig & Whistle. The Oak 'A' also eased through beating Rileys Exiles 6 - 1, Barry Mara the only winner for the Ex's beating Ant Tedds in the fourth frame. Rileys B.I.S.C. put up a good fight against the more experienced Rileys Baldies before bowing out 6 - 3 which happened to be the same score line Rileys Rascals beat Rileys Rovers by. Saying that Rovers only had 3 players and so nearly forced a play off but Mark Seaman saw off 'The Claw' to put the Rascals through. Both Hare & Hounds sides also went in to the quarter final draw with the Harun 'B' beating Eliotts 'A' 6 - 1 and the Harun 'A' beating Eliotts 'B' in a much closer match 6 - 3...

March 3rd

League One:-- Rileys Rascals extended their lead at the top of the table to 6 points with a comprehensive 9 - 1 thrashing of Rileys B.I.S.C. The Rascals were in the zone from the break off with John Fletcher, Ian Worthington, Andy Hopkins and Dean Clarke all potting their way to a couple of frames each as they went 9 nil up. Only Steve 'Rambo' Green stood in the way of the dry rub against the more experienced campaigner Paul Gosling, but with the pressure of being the only loser getting to Goose, Rambo seized his opportunity to clinch the frame much to his and his teams delight... Second placed Parade Potters welcomed back the unbeaten duo of Lee Amos and Andy Smith as they entertained Rileys Exiles who have non other than Rob 'Wizard' Bliss in their ranks, but sadly even he couldn't conjure a win up as the Parade were simply to strong on the night and cruised to a 8 - 2 win... Lee Amos and Andy Smith on cue with another two wins plus two from Carl Jefferson.. Exiles had Nick Smith and James Towers to thank for their points... The match between the two Eliotts sides ended in a tame draw but it moves Eliotts 'B' off the bottom of the table. Paul Barnett and Simon Snounou the pick of the 'B' side with 2 wins each while Kelly Thacker was the only cueist from the 'a' side to win 2 frames.. In fact Thacker and Captain Michelle Orton won the final 2 frames of the match to earn the 'A' side a draw...
Super League:-- The Royal Oak 'B' popped in an eye catching display this week as they dismantled the previously unbeaten reigning champions the Royal Oak 'A' 8 - 2. Several of the best players in the surrounding area and Chicken Randle were on cue to produce a match of the highest possible standard. The Oak raced into a 4 - 0 lead thanks the Andy Bassett, Col Richards, James and Paul Willis fresh from his England trials. Craig Smith produced the fastest clearance seen since a clearance that wasn't as fast was last seen to put the Oak 'A' on the board. Rich Mills continued his recent run of form to extend the lead to 5 - 1. Smith returned to win his second frame of the night to make it 5 - 2 but that was the 'A' teams last point of the night as Paul Willis and Mills won another frame each plus Mr Randle also notching a win... Rileys Baldies move above the Oak 'A' into second place courtesy of their 10 - 0 demolition of the Pig & Whistle. Jamie Hobby, Ross Krupa and Paul Gibbs all on fire for Rileys.. Finally the the two Hare and Hounds teams met in the battle of Heath End Road the seasoned campaigners of the 'A' side against the young upstarts of the 'B' side.  It was the 'A' team that started well winning the first two frames through Dean Wheeldon and Mick McCool. The 'B' must have thought here we go again after five straight defeats but when Rich Foran beat Dave Rogers in the third frame they seem to find the inspiration they needed. After Foran's first victory of the season, Michael Nixon and the Williams brothers Ryan then Mark put the 'B' side 4 - 2 up. The next four frames were shared as the 'A' side desperately tried to maintain their superiority over the the young guns. So it was fitting that both captains played the final frame of the match, Bill Brown trying to spare the 'A' teams blushes and Mark Williams hoping to cement the bragging rights until they meet again. It was Williams who produced his best performance of the season easing past Brown to secure the Harun 'B's first ever Super League win.. I suppose it couldn't have been more fitting that it was against the Harun 'A'.

March 1st

There will be a knock out at Rileys on Sunday 22nd March... £10 to enter.. All monies will be paid out...Open to the first 32 players to contact Al Jones... The Summer League Presentation will be held after the Knock out about 7pm....

February 23rd

Super League:-- The Royal Oak 'B' closed the gap at the top of the table to just 2 points with a comfortable 8 - 2 win over the Pig & Whistle. The Atherstone duo of  Neil Randle & Rich Mills with another double each for the Arbury Roaders... Rileys Baldies remain in touch with the front two after an 8 - 2 win of their own over the Hare & Hounds 'B'. Sean Orr and Ian Fowler with two wins apiece plus a break dish from Paul Gibbs... The Hare & Hounds 'A' swap places with Rileys Rovers courtesy of their 6 - 4 victory over Rovers... Dave Rogers the star for the Harun while Stu Tedstone continued his good run of wins for Rovers..
League One:-- The top two clashed this week in what promised to be a right battle royal but with the parade's top two cueman missing they simply caved in with the Rascals running out emphatic 9 - 1 winners... Graham Amos sparing the Parade from the Whitewash taking the final frame of the night... Ian Worthington, John Fletcher, Paul Gosling and Dean Clarke all in the Zone for Rileys... The Rose Inn closed the gap between them and the Parade to just 4 points with Rich Bradbury, Luke Alcock and Nigel Farley potting the Coton Roaders to a fine 7 - 3 win over Rileys B.I.S.C. Last but by know means least Rileys Exiles and Eliotts 'B' played out a tame draw leaving Eliotts 'B' bottom of the league...

February 20th

Rileys B.I.S.C. player Keith Taylor is fast making the Super Sunday Shoot Out's his own as he lifted his second of the seasons 3 tournaments. This time beating his team mate Phil White in the final... The first round losers competition was won by Rob Orton of Eliotts who beat Ryan Williams and finally the third competition of the night was won by the Rose Inn's Rich Bradbury who beat Phil White....

February 13th

It's Interleague again this Sunday so we will be holding another one frame Knock Out at Rileys for non Interleague players... Same format as last time £2 to enter.. First round losers go into a second competition... Time allowing we will hold a third competition again as well...

February 10th

All tables have been updated... Report will follow as soon as I get over the shock of Chelsea winning for a third week in a row...J

February 3rd

Super League:-- Summer League champions and current league leaders the Royal Oak 'A' had to show their fighting qualities this week as Rileys Baldies pushed them all the way in superb match.. (according to Chuckles) The Oak had Daz Henton on cue with 2 frames plus singles from Ant Tedds, Graham Proctor and Roger Smee while Karl White, Ian Fowler, Sean Orr, Steve Self and Ross Krupa took the frames for the Baldies... The Royal Oak 'B' closed the gap at the top to just 3 points with an empathic 9 - 1 mauling of the Hare & Hounds 'B' ... James Willis, Andy Bassett and Chick Randle all winning 2 frames each with Mark Williams sparing the Harun's blushes beating Rich Mills in the seventh frame...Last but not least the Pig & Whistle got their first win of the season beating Rileys Rovers 7 - 3... Ian Bishop and Mick Maddon in the zone with 2 wins apiece.. Rovers had Mark Chapman too thank it wasn't a bigger defeat as he won both his frames with ease... A special mention for Dave 'Shakey Fletcher who finally beat Al Jones at his 150th attempt....
League One:-- Rileys Rascals moved a point clear of the Parade Potters courtesy of their 9 - 1 thumping of Eliotts 'B' only Danny Barr was on track for Eliotts as the Rascals turned on the power... Who writes this rubbish!!!!.. Top Rascal Ian Worthington moved to the top of the averages with another 2 wins... The Rose Inn stay in third spot despite a shock 6 - 4 defeat to Eliotts 'A'. Landlord Alwyn Deacon and Mick Golby in sparkling form for the Abbey Street cueists while Nigel Farley was the star performer for the Rose... Meanwhile more amazing feats of pool were being displayed by Rileys B.I.S.C. captain Alan 'Chelsea' Hudson who for a second consecutive week was in the winners enclosure.. sadly for Chelsea only three more of his players could match his display as B.I.S.C. went down 6 - 4 to Rileys Exiles....

January 26th

Congratulations to Keith Taylor of Rileys B.I.S.C. who won the inaugural Super Sunday Shoot-Out when Interleague's on Competition. 20 players turned out at short notice for this event and had a great night of pool... Keith Taylor beat the Hare & Hounds 'B' star Ryan Williams in the first Shoot-Out final taking the £30 first prize... A first round losers Shoot -Out was also underway in which Rileys Exiles player Barry Mara beat Rileys B.I.S.C. new cueman Phil White to take £14 first prize... The Third competition was won by Eliotts 'A' cueist Mick Golby who beat the Hare & Hounds 'B' Michael Nixon in a quality match to take the £15 first prize... Full results on links below....

January 19th

Message to all teams... To stop a number of clashes between our sides and the old rules sides... I've sorted out their fixtures but to achieve equilibrium I've had to rearrange our fixtures slightly... Hopefully all teams have now had a copy of the new fixtures.. If you haven't please get in touch asap.. Or if you're not sure which ones you have check the one you have against the one on the fixtures page...

January 13th

Super League:-- Newly promoted Hare & Hounds 'B' were welcomed to the Super League by Champions Royal Oak 'A' and then given a harsh lesson in the art of finishing. The Oak registering the first 10 - 0 of the season as they look to gain back to back titles...Roger Smee & Dave Lea the pick of the bunch... There is one consolation for the Heath End Roaders.. It'll soon be June.. Rileys Baldies move into 2nd spot with a 6 - 4 victory over the Harun 'A', Jamie Hobby & Paul Gibbs in the zone for Rileys after all the real baldies had lost.... Elsewhere Rileys Rovers were held to an entertaining draw by the Royal Oak 'B'... who knows if Paul Willis hadn't played the 3 cushion black and Mr Richards hadn't closed his eyes to pot an even funnier 3 cushion black they might have come way with a win... but hey ho!! Mark Gaynor seven balled Paul Willis and Mark Chapman was Ace!!!
League One:-- The Rose took the short trip down Coton Road to play the Parade Potters with the prediction of a 7 - 3 beating to sort out... Final Score 7 - 3... can I have six numbers for the lottery please... Lee Amos, Kirk Amos and Andy Smith on cue for the Parade with 2 wins apiece.. Rich Bradbury the star for the Rose winning both his frames... Meanwhile at Rileys, Eliotts 'A' had stormed into a 4 - 2 lead over the Exiles with Dave Glover x 2, Harla Farley and Mick Golby in fine form. But thoughts of much needed victory slowly evaporated as the Exiles took 4 in a row through Barry Mara, Sam Howkins, Kelvin Hains and captain marvel Lee Howkins.. In the other match Eliotts 'B' also produced 4 in a row to comeback from 3 - 1 to beat Rileys B.I.S.C 6 - 4..  Simon Snounou and Simon Print simply too good for their opponents... Jason Heaton the best B.I.S.C. player on the night...

January 9th

Super League:-- Champions Royal Oak 'A' got their season under way with a comfortable 7 - 3 victory over Rileys Rovers... Their sister team had to settle for a share of the points in their tussle with Rileys Baldies.... And the Hare & Hounds 'A' welcomed last season's League One winners the Pig & Whistle to the Super League with a 7 - 3 beating...
League One:-- The two new sides in the league both popped in eye catching displays in their opening matches.. The Parade Potters dismantled Eliotts 'A' 9 - 1 and Rileys Rascals battered Rileys Exiles by the same margin... It's too early to tell if it's going to be just a two horse race this season... maybe we will know more after the Parade's second match against the slightly more competitive Rose Rotters...A source close to both teams suggests a 7 - 3 win for the Parade... The Rose themselves were held to a draw by the league dark horses Eliotts 'B'...

January 6th

All table updated ... Report will follow shortly... Dave Cooper Challenge Trophy 1st Round draw is also online.....

January 1st

A Happy New Year to all players and their families from the committee........ Happy Potting....

December 22nd

Atherstone cueman Dave Smith took the 2008 Super Sunday Shoot Out title last night along with £100 cash prize.. After nearly going out in the first round to Rob 'Wizard' Bliss, Dave just got better and better before finally beating Ross Krupa in the final. Fellow Atherstone legend Chick Randle kept his record of first round exits going with yet another early bath..... Star of the show though was undoubtedly 12 year old Stephen Snounou who knocked out Bill Brown, Rick Rafferty and Chucky Fowler on his way to a place in the quarter finals where he finally lost to Shoot Out runner up Ross Krupa.. Other notable performances came from Paul Webb who reached the last 8 and Steve Tedds who beat some very good players to get to the semis where he sadly missed a potable black against Shoot out winner Dave Smith...With 61 entrants there was only 3 spots for first round losers.. Samantha Snounou, Bill Brown and Andy West were the lucky three to get another go.. but they all did a Chicken Randle and got knocked out straight away...A big thank you to everyone that turned up last night you made it a great night...  Full draw on Shoot Out Page

December 2nd

Congratulations to Paul Webb and Neil Randle on winning the doubles beating Adie Pinnegar and Andy Bassett 5 - 4 in the final..... They also beat the highly fancied pair of Craig Smith & Tom Smee in the semis and Karl White and Stuart McLaughlin in the quarter finals....

November 26th

Dave Cooper Challenge Trophy:-- Holders Royal Oak 'B' were given a right scare by the Hare & Hounds 'A' before finally booking their place in the Dave Cooper Challenge Trophy final with a 6 - 3 victory.  Mick McCool put the Harun in front but it didn't last long as Neil Randle and Paul Willis produced to quick fire frames to put the Oak 2 - 1 up. Andy West was on cue to level the match taking the fourth frame but Andy Bassett saw off Dean Wheeldon to restore the Oak's one frame cushion. Wheeldon was on hand to make amends almost instantaneously by clearing in the very next frame to level the match once more. Try as they might the oak just couldn't shake the Harun off their coat tails but there always seems to be a turning point in a match and the seventh frame was probably the point. 12 year old James Willis who has just won England youth trials put Mr West to the sword and edged the Oak in front once more. Then incredibly in the eight frame a sour point, Dave Alsop listened very closely to the advice Mr Randle was giving to edge out Mick McCool .. Didn't realise we played doubles!!!! Urmmm TUT TUT... can't help it can U?? hey!!! Chick then beat Dave Rogers without any advice to take the match for the Oak. They will meet Rileys Elite in the final after they beat Rileys Rockets 6 - 4 in the other semi final. Wins from Dean Clarke, Karl White, Ian Fowler, John Fletcher, Mark Seaman and Neil Goodwin enough to put the Elite through to their first ever final. Dave Lea the star man for the Rockets winning both his frames.
Rileys Bowl:-- The Rose Inn turned the form book on its head as they beat League One winners the Pig & Whistle 6 - 4 in a classic semi final. Nigel Farley as he's done nearly all season got the Coton Roaders off to a winning start. Ian Bishop and Malc Ashby then put the Pig 2 - 1 up as they looked to finish the Rose as quickly as possible. But as it looked like going 3 - 1 a rare mistake from Dave Fletcher let in Rich Bradbury who cleared well to level the match instead.  Encouraged  by this good fortune the Rose took the next two frames through Marc Ellis-Cooper and the ever reliable Nigel Farley. Ian Bishop pulled a frame back for the Pig but Kyle Allen found his form at the right time and edged the Rose towards victory. The ninth frame saw Dave Fletcher get his own back on Rich Bradbury to make the score line  5 - 4 to the Rose. Both captains were on in the final frame with Steve Moore hoping to win to force a play off, but Marc Ellis-Cooper was having none of it and produced his best ever display of pool to put the Rose into the final. There they will meet the odds on favourites the Royal Oak 'A', they proved far too strong for a gallant Eliotts side in the other semi final. The Super league champions running out 6 - 0 winners, Tom Smee x2, Ant Tedds, Darren Henton, Roger Smee and Graham Proctor all on cue.

November 21st

Well done to Steve Tedds who retained the Singles title last night.... Beating Keith Garner, Rich Mills, Craig Smith and then team mate Lee Steptoe in the final... All very good players in that list.... Different custard Mr Tedds different custard......J

November 14th

Super League:-- Super League champions the Royal Oak 'A' were beaten 6 - 4 in the final games of the season by the Hare & Hounds 'A'. Did they take their eye of the ball or were the Harun simply too good for them? Who knows answers on a post card.... Anyway averages winner Craig Smith got the Oak off to the perfect start by taking the opening frame, Dean Wheeldon then levelled the match before Darren Henton restored the Oak's one frame cushion. Ant Tedds & Graham Proctor then powered the Oak into a 4 - 1 lead as they looked to finish the league season off on a high. Who'd have put money on the Harun taking the next five frames? Not me that's for sure, but that's exactly what they did!!! Phil Sayer, Dean Wheeldon, Dave Rogers, Rebecca McCool and Bill Brown all on cue to give the Harun a quite remarkable victory. Elsewhere Rileys Rockets were struggling for a team but still turned up, unlike certain cretin's I could mention. Having only 3 players didn't prevent a well deserved victory though as Dave Lea, Al Jones and Steve Blakemore won all their frames to nick the match off a maybe over confident Rileys Elite. The Royal Oak 'B' cemented the runners up spot with a walkover against the non showing Rileys Rovers.
League One:-- The Pig and Whistle were finally crowned League One champions when Steve Ridsdale took the first frame of the match at Rileys against the Exiles. But the Exiles still had the runners up spot to play for as did the Hare & Hounds 'B' and the Cherry Tree. Things went from bad to worst for the Exiles as Ian Bishop and Dave Simpson put the Pig 3 - 0. Rob 'The Wizard' Bliss finally got the Exiles on the scoreboard taking the fourth frame, Lee & Andy Howkins then took the next two frames to level the match. Bishop then edged the Pig back in front only to see the Exiles take the next two frames through Lee Howkins and Chris Foltyn. Now leading 5 - 4 with their star player on the Exiles were looking good for the win but Malc Ashby had other ideas and played a great frame of pool to secure the draw and condemn the Exiles to another season in League One.... Well done to the Pig.. So whoever won the match between the Harun 'B' and thee Cherry Tree would clinch the last promotion spot. Averages winner Michael Nixon put the Harun 1 - 0 up, Tim Styles then levelled. Ric Foran and Martyn Biddle edged the Harun towards the six frame target before the Cherry's Paul Barnett made it 3 - 2. Home advantage seemed to give the Harun a distinct advantage with some of the Cherry players finding the speed of the table a tad hard to handle. Ryan Williams then extended the Harun's advantage to 4 - 2, Curtis Timson soon made that 5 - 2 with a quality display. The Cherry now needed the last three frames to pip the Harun the Harun needed just one more frame to clinch promotion. Ric Foran duly obliged taking the eight frame, Michael Nixon also won another frame just to make certain before Simon Snounou won a consolation frame for the Cherry... Well done to the Harun... In the other two fixtures the Rose Inn beat Rileys B.I.S.C. 8 - 2 with Nigel Farley, Jamie Low and Rich Bradbury all wining two frames each with singles from Kyle Allen & Marc Ellis Cooper. Pete Wilson and Andy Mciver the B.I.S.C. winners. Finally Eliotts had a walkover against the Miners...

League One:-- The battle for the runners up spot took another twist this week as the in form Cherry Tree were cut down to size by Rileys Exiles. In a match that had draw written all over it, it was Rileys Exiles who extended their unbeaten run to 8 matches and ended the Cherry's run of 6 straight wins. It's all very interested at the top now as the Pig drew with the Rose and the Harun 'B' beat Eliotts. So the final week of the season sees first place Pig host the Exiles and second placed Cherry visit the Harun. A very interesting night to be sure!!! If the Cherry beat the Harun they should come second unless the Exiles do something really special at the Pig. If the Harun beat the Cherry they will finish above the Cherry but will have to wait for the Pig and Exiles result to see if they come second.....All tense stuff.  Anyway Rileys Exiles give themselves this lifeline by beating the Cherry 6 - 4.Andy and Lee Howkins on cue with 2 wins each plus singles from Rob Bliss and match winner Sam Howkins. Steve Olner continued his return with 2 frames with Paul Barnett and Simon Print also winning  a game. Who knows if Olly hadn't broken his arm the Cherry might have been right up there challenging for the title... Meanwhile the Harun stayed in touch after a 7 - 3 win over Eliotts. Averages winner Michael Nixon in the zone again this week with his 8th double of the season, Jamie Walsgrove also bagged two wins with Ryan Williams, Curtis Timson, and Mark Williams also winning. A rare double from Rob Orton and a single from Dave Glover getting the points for Eliotts. Meanwhile the Pig all but won the league with a 5 all draw against the Rose. They now need just 1 frame to be certain of the title, so barring a miracle they should lift the crown at home next week. Malc Ashby the star for the Pig as they came back from 5 - 2 down to snatch a draw, Kyle Allen on fire for the Rose winning both his frames. Rileys BISC beat the Miners who failed to show again!!!

Cup draws are now online... Doubles draw is also online.... Thanks to Ryan Williams, Ric Foran, Lee Howkins and Chucky for doing the draws...

Tables updated.... Report will follow.... Well done to Michael Nixon of the Hare & Hounds 'B' for winning the League One Averages...

Super League:-- The Royal Oak 'A' were crowned the Super Sunday League Pool champions this week after their 6 - 0 walk over against the non showing Rileys Rovers. After only losing one match all season so far...I'll just add that was to Rileys Rockets.. Strangely the only game Rockets won all season... anyway they deserve the title but its just a shame Rovers couldn't be arsed to put a team out.... Meanwhile The Royal Oak 'B' clinched the runners up spot thanks to a 6 - 4 victory over their closet rivals Rileys Elite. The Oaks first two players easily with a combined age of over 100 showed the youngsters of the Elite they still know their way around the table. Dave 'Dodgy' Alsop and Kev 'The Bear' Bennett on cue to put the Oak two frames up. Paul Gibbs pulled a frame back for the Elite by beating Andy Bassett before four unanswered frames from the Oak sealed the game. Ben Gilbey returned from illness to take two frames plus Colin Richards and Baz Newnes out potting their opponents. The Elite did take the final three frames of the match through Gibbs, Mark Seaman and Dean Clarke but it was to little too late for Chuckey's boys. The battle of the bottom two between the Hare & Hounds 'A' and Rileys Rockets turned out to be a quality night of piss taking... The Harun won the game 6 - 4, a game that will be remembered for a many a year thanks to two awesome displays of missing by Paul Webb.... Utter brilliance I haven't laughed so much in years.... Cheers Paul...
League One:-- The Pig and Whistle put the disappointment of last weeks defeat well and truly behind them with their second 10 - 0 victory of the season. Rileys B.I.S.C. were the unfortunate side to feel the full force of the Pig backlash. Steve Ridsdale, Ian Bishop, Dave Simpson, Dave Fletcher and captain Steve Moore all in the zone for the Abby Street cueman. Apparently B.I.S.C. even lost the toss for the break but hey at least Chelsea managed to pot a ball this week. The Cherry Tree keep the pressure at the top on the Pig boys as they stretched their winning run to 6 matches with a comfortable 7 - 3 victory at Eliotts. Steve Olner returned to action after missing several games with a broken arm to put the Cherry one up, Simon Snounou made it two nil by brushing Alwyn Deacon aside with the utmost of ease. Dave Glover got Eliotts on the score sheet winning the third frame but was helpless to prevent Paul Barnett and Simon Print putting the Cherry 4 - 1 up. Print then beat Glover in the sixth frame and Simon Snounou out potted Deacon for the second time on the night to win the match. Rob Orton and Michelle Orton won a couple of consolation frames for Eliotts with Pal Barnett notching he sixth double win on the trot for the Tree. Elsewhere at Rileys the Exiles were taking on arch rivals the Rose. Still smarting from their earlier season defeat at the Rose, Exiles captain put his best five players down on the score sheet. They duly obliged Kelvin Hains then Sam Howkins followed by his brothers Andy and Lee plus Rob 'Wizard' Bliss put the Exiles into a 5 - 0 lead. Who'd have bet on the Rose managing a draw at this point.. certainly not me..  Kyle Allen got the balls rolling for the Rose with Jamie Low and Nigel Farley making it 5 - 3 moments later. Then 5 - 3 soon became 5 - 4 as Rich Bradbury took the ninth frame for the Rose. All the pressure was now on the Exiles and the last frame saw both teams captains face each other, Lee Howkins against Mark Ellis Cooper. Howkins broke he came up dry (he didn't pot one).. Cooper potted a couple then Howkins did, Cooper potted another couple then both players started missing the Exiles put the Banjo song on, even that didn't lift Howkins.. Cooper eventually held his nerve to produce a nice finish and snatch the draw. The greatest comeback in the leagues short history... unbelievable!!!!!  you wouldn't believe it if it were a film...What the hell am I going on about... I need Help!!!. In the other match the Hare & Hounds 'B' also returned to winning way an easy 8 - 2 win at the Miners... Don't know who won or lost because I've not picked the card up. But it moves the Harun back into he mix as now four sides via for the runners up spot...

The Royal Oak 'A' were crowned the Super Sunday League Pool champions this week after their 6 - 0 walk over against the non showing Rileys Rovers. For the third match in a row Rovers have failed to field a team and should be ashamed of themselves ... I bet they all turn up when the Singles is on... Well that's if we let them continue.... I text all of their players to warn them I'd kick them out of the Singles & Doubles if they didn't field a side... they didn't so want do you think? email me at vmadprof@aol.com for your thoughts...

October 21st

League One:-- The Cherry Tree made it five wins on the bounce with a 6 - 4 victory at the Pig & Whistle and in doing so have put themselves right in to contention for promotion. After their cup exit last week at the hands of the Pig last week it was sweet revenge for Tree boys this time. Steve Ridsdale got the league leaders off to a great start taking the opening frame only to see Davis Quaife level the match moments later. Malc Ashby continued his recent run of good form to put the Pig back in front at 2 - 1. Next up to the table for the Pig was the legend Dave 'Shakey' Fletcher oh well 2 each then. The impressive 13 year old Stephen Snounou wasting no time in putting the legend out of his misery. This seemed to spur on his team mates as they took the next four frames without reply thanks to a couple of frames from the ever reliable Paul Barnett another win from Stephen Snounou and then Simon Print finally sealed the victory for the Cherry. The pig took the last two frames but they were of little consolation as the match had already been lost. Rileys Exiles stay in second spot for a another week after their tight 6 - 4 victory over the Hare & Hounds 'B' who slip down to fifth spot their lowest league position this season. The Howkins brothers Andy & Sam put the Exiles 2 up in no time at all with their free flowing potting style...(god I make myself laugh writing this rubbish).. But the Harun replied to level matters through Rich Foran and Michael Nixon. Another Howkins this time Lee put the Exiles back in front before Curtis Timson squared the match again. Sam Howkins held his nerve to notch his second win of the evening to take the seventh frame before an Exiles player not in the Howkins family (Although they seem to like Banjo music so you never know!!!) managed a win Kelvin Hains out potting Ryan Williams to put the Exiles on the brink of victory. A brink which they crossed in the very next frame as a missed long pot from Mark Williams let in Andy Howkins who cut in the black to righteous applause from his team mates. It was that or they were cheering because Lee had put the Banjo song on again who knows with that lot. The Harun took the final frame with averages leader Michael Nixon beating Lee Howkins. The Rose move into third place after the easiest victory of the season 6 - 0 over the non showing Miners. And last but not least Eliotts beat Rileys B.I.S.C. 6 - 4, Alwyn Deacon on cue with two wins plus singles from Yvonne Deacon, Rob Orton, Dave Glover and captain Michelle Orton. The B.I.S.C. boys in the winners enclosure were Ian Smart, Jay Wilson, Pete Wilson and Lee Boardman.

October 14th

Dave Cooper Challenge Trophy:-- Holders Rileys Rovers crashed out of the competition after being battered 6 - 2 by the awesome Rileys Rockets. Captain Al Jones broke dished to blast the Rockets off to the perfect start. Only for Andy Hopkins to return the favour in the very next frame and level the match. But the fat controller Danny Barr along with Andy Yearby and Steve Blakemore were all on cue to hand Rockets a 4 - 1 lead at the halfway point. Andy 'Jaffa' Hopkins then produced his second break dish of the night to peg a frame back for Rovers but Danny Barr and Steve Blakemore ensured Rockets safe passage into the Semi finals by taking the next two frames. Last years runners up the Royal Oak 'B' joined Rockets in the last four after a comfortable 6 - 1 victory over Rileys Exiles. Lee Howkins the only player on the score sheet for the Exiles by beating Andy Bassett in the third frame. Rileys Elite also managed to get through by just edging Hare & Hounds 'B' 6 - 2.  Ryan Williams bang on cue for the Harun winning both his frames, shame he couldn't of played a few more for the Hearth End Roaders. But saying that he only beat Mark Seaman and Dean Clarke and my Gran has beaten both of them so who knows.... Meanwhile up at the Harun the 'A' side were making short work of the Miners breezing into the last 4 without losing a frame..
Rileys Bowl:-- Favourites the Royal Oak 'A' found Bye a tricky tie and needed a play off the scrap into the last 4.... Eliotts also went through by the same method leaving Pig, Cherry, Rose and Rileys B.I.S.C. to battle it out to join them. The Rose did just that as they eased to a 6- 2 victory over Rileys B.I.S.C. Captain of Rileys Alan 'Chelsea' Hudson having the dubious honour of being 7 balled twice in a match, firstly by Jamie Low and then by Rich Bradbury... oh how we laughed... Meanwhile the inform Cherry Tree visited League One leaders the Pig & Whistle in what promised to be a battle royal. Sadly for the Tree they were soon cut down to size. After taking the first two frames on the tie they promptly lost the next six... oh well always the J 'n' J trophy boys...

October 7th

Super League:-- The Royal Oak 'A' all but clinched the Super League title this week after their 8 - 2 thrashing of Rileys Elite. The Arbury Road cueists were in sparkling form once again storming into an 8 - 0 lead before John Fletcher finally got the Elite on the scorecard. Chucky went on to win the last frame of the match for the Elite but it didn't really matter as the game had been lost well before. The three musketeers Craig Smith, Tom Smee and Darren Henton all in scintillating form again for the Oak with two wins apiece plus singles from Ant Tedds and Roger Smee. The Royal Oak 'B' move into second spot after coming from 2 - 0 down to beat Rileys Rockets 7- 3. The Rockets blasted out of the blocks with captain Al Jones 7 balling the Great Chicken Randle, then Danny Barr confirmed his status as the best train spotting pool player in the county by taking the second frame. But five unanswered frames from the Oak through Paul Willis, Andy Bassett, Rich Mills, Dave Alsop and Colin Richards ended any hopes the Rockets might have had of victory. Even though Icky Singh took the eight frame it was only a slight hiccup as the Oak took the next 2 frames with ease through Mills and Randle. The Hare & Hounds 'A' managed to collect their first win of the season thanks to the non showing Rileys Rovers who now slip out of the title race...
League One:-- The Pig & Whistle extended their lead at the top once again this week, as the teams below them floundered they were in superlative form. They made the short trip down Abbey Street well worth there while as they annihilated Eliotts 9 - 1. Dave Glover the only player managing to win a frame for Eliotts, in fact such was the Pig's dominance Glover was the only Eliotts player to get a shot at the coveted Eight Ball. Steve Ridsdale, Ian Bishop, Dave Fletcher and Dave Simpson all on cue with two wins plus a single frame from Pig Captain Steve Moore... Malc Ashby the only loser for the Pig. The Hare & Hounds 'B' and Rileys Exiles have been swapping second and third spots for the last 4 weeks so its no real surprise when I say. Rileys Exiles move back into second spot and the Harun 'B' slip back to third. The Exiles will be kicking themselves though as let let a 4 - 1 lead slip against the Miners. But on the other hand happy that Sam Howkins won the last frame to salvage a draw. The miners had dug themselves into a hole (see wot i did there...lol..) and for the second week running were staring at a heavy defeat but wins from Lesley, Ashley and Barry Mara plus Frazer Jones turned the game on its head. When they were 4 - 1 down the Miners would have been happy with a draw but they must be a little disappointed that they didn't win the match. Meanwhile the Harun 'B' were in trouble at the Rose as Jamie Low, Nigel Farley and Rich Bradbury put the Coton Roaders 3 - 0 up in a matter of minutes. Michael Nixon steadied the Harun by taking the fourth frame with a seven baller but it was only a short reprieve as hot potting Marc Ellis Cooper put in another eye catching display to extend his sides lead back to three frames. Jamie Walsgrove took the sixth frame for the Harun before Low returned to win his second frame of the night to make it 5 - 2. That soon became 5 - 3 as St John Daniels cleared well for the Harun as they tried to rescue the game. But the Rose now sensed victory and took the last two frames through Kyle Allen and the enigmatic Ellis-Cooper. The dark horses in this division could well turn out to be the Cherry Tree they may have started the season slowly but they are now starting to play some nice pool. This week Rileys B.I.S.C. found them too good as the Tree secured their third 8 - 2 win in a row. The excellent Simon Print again won his two frames as did young Stephen Snounou and the not so young Paul Barnett, who for a second week in a row produced a seven baller.

September 29th

League One:-- The Pig & Whistle stretched their lead at the top of Division One to eight points with  a comfortable 6 - 4 victory over the Miners. It could have been more but for a great fight back from the Miners, the Pig had been cruising at 6 - 1 but the Miners took the final 3 frames to make the score line a little more respectable. The Hare & Hounds 'B' move back into 2nd spot courtesy of their 8 - 2 battering of Rileys B.I.S.C.... some nice sportsmanship in this game from Mark Williams of the Harun in his frame with James Towers. After James had miscued and not hit the pack... instead of having the break and two shots Mark elected to let him break again.. Nice to see that... it would have been funny if he'd have broke dished you though...J... Mark went on to win his second frame of the night as did averages leader Michael Nixon and the returning captain St John Daniels, only Pete Wilson and Jason Heaton on the board for Rileys. Rileys Exiles slip back to 3rd place after their draw with Eliotts. The Exiles somehow found themselves 4 - 0 down to Eliotts???? How??? Did you give them a 4 - 0 start???... Only Joking!!!!  Mick Golby, Alwyn Deacon, Rob Orton and Eliotts captain Michelle Orton powered the Abbey Street potters into a four nil lead as the shell shocked Exiles looked on. Exiles captain Lee Howkins finally got them on the score sheet and in doing so, started the revival as firstly Chris Foltyn then Rob Bliss each out potted their opponents to close the gap. Captain Marvel Howkins returned to the table to take his second frame of the match and draw the sides level. Michelle Orton then put Eliotts back in front at 5 - 4 as she despatched Kelvin Hains without much trouble but sadly for them Sam Howkins was in supreme form and he won the last frame to earn the Exiles a well deserved draw.  Elsewhere the Cherry Tree and the Rose moved their game down to Rileys so they could play their game from earlier in the season. How I bet the Rose hadn't..... The Cherry Tree were in inspired form winning both matches 8 - 2. Tim Styles and Paul Barnett in excellent form as they both won four frames on the night, each producing a Seven baller ... Styles leaving Nigel Farley with seven and Barnett doing the same to Kyle Allen. This double win moves the Cherry Tree in to the mix as four sides via for the runners up spot.
Super League:-- The Royal Oak 'A' made in five wins on the trot as they eased to a 7 - 3 victory over Rileys Rockets. Rockets are the only side to have beaten the Oak this season but were well and truly spanked this time. I think I may of upset Ant Tedds with my Elvis comments last week because when he finally turned up in his Blue Suede shoes he was All shook up and told me Don't me Cruel... Arrgh bless... Then he beat me twice the Hound Dog... Craig Smith and Graham Proctor also won two apiece with a rare victory form captain Roger Smee... I'd like to thank Joe Aiello for turning up on his birthday and nearly staying awake during his match with Craig Smith... He only had time for a short nap though as Craig don't hang around... Happy Birthday mate... Only Danny Barr fresh from a spot of train spotting put up any resistance to the onslaught as he won both his frames, the only other winner for the Rockets was Dave Lea who left Tom Smee with seven balls. The Royal Oak 'B' and Rileys Rovers met earlier in the night to play their game in hand, which ended in a draw... Paul Willis and Andy Bassett winning 2 each for the Oak with Stuart Tedstone the only double winner for Rovers... None out of 2 for Chicken ..J... . Rovers then went back to Rileys to play Riles Elite and the Oak 'B' nipped down Heath End Road to play the Hare & Hounds 'A'. Rovers continued with their indifferent form letting a 5 - 3 lead slip and most likely the League slip as the Elite closed out the match to snatch a draw.... Meanwhile the Oak 'B' kept there slim hopes of the title alive with a 7 - 3 victory at the Harun. But it could have been so different as the Harun took the first two frame through Dave Rogers and Bill Brown (chick lost again..).. and with star man Andy West on next things were looking good for the Harun.. but young James Willis hadn't read the script and bish bash bosh promptly did a shanghi finish (trebled last but one ball... potted last ball.. then doubled the black... Nice!!!!)...  to pull a frame back for the Oak.. Dad Paul and Berty then put the Oak 3 - 2 up. West returned to the table for the battle of the old timers with Col Richards, it didn't take too long for Andrew to level the match... But that was the last bright point for the Harun as the Oak took the final four frames of the match. Paul Willis and Andy Bassett each won again to make it four out of four for the day... plus a rare appearance and win from Dave Alsop and I might add an even rarer win from Mr Randle....

September 23rd

Super League:-- The Royal Oak 'A' took a major step towards lifting their first league title after edging past the Oak 'B' 6 - 4. The win puts them 19 points clear of their 'B' side and 11 points clear of second placed Rileys Rovers, these two both have a game in hand but it's against each other so this may benefit the Oak 'A'. Craig Smith got the game started break dishing Chick Randle to put the Oak 'A' one up, this soon became three nil as Tom Smee & Darren Henton both won. Col Richards rolled back the years to break dish Ant Tedds to put the Oak 'B' on the score board. Poor Ant gets break dished and no second game... bit harsh Roger!!!! but then again he is rubbish...lol.. You should stick to your Elvis impressions Ant... (See Pic)..  Lenny Sharpe then beat Andy Bassett after Berty had wasted a golden opportunity... he missed the black by what was remarked as a country mile... Smith then returned to beat Randle for the second time to put the Oak 'A' 5 - 1 up. The ever reliable Richards returned to the table for the 'B' side as they stared a big defeat in the face, he duly got his and his sides second frame of the night. But any thoughts they may have had of snatching a draw with quickly quashed as Tom Smee was on cue to take the eight frame. The Oak 'B' did manage to make the score line look a little more respectable by taking the last two frames of the night through James Willis and Andy Bassett but sadly for them the match and maybe the league had already been lost. Ok.. wipe the tears away Mr Pinnagar...J .. Elsewhere Rileys Rovers battered Rileys Rockets 8 - 2 jammy Tossers!!!!... Andy Hopkins seven balled Icky 'I have no real ability I can't even get a snooker with 7 balls on the table' Singh... but Icky later redeemed himself by somehow managing to beat Chappers... I think all the laughter at your inability to function properly saw you through Ickster.... The Elite move into third spot after beating the Hare & Hounds 'A' 6 - 4. They had the unlikeliest of match winners this week.. none other than Stuart 'Mushy' McLaughlin. Mush held his nerve to see off DAVE ROGERS and take the match for Rileys. Paul Gibbs had earlier notched two fine victories for Rileys with Bill Brown doing the same for the Harun..... Rumours are gathering pace that Elite captain Ian 'Chuckles' Fowler is secretly aiming to join sister side Rileys Rockets.. Rockets captain Al Jones was unavailable for comment because of a laughing fit that quickly followed the question but we may have photographic evidence.. (See Pic)
League One:-- For the second week in a row the Pig & Whistle were involved in a top of the table clash. This week they took the short trip along Heath End Road to play the Hare & Hounds 'B'. Last week I was accused of being a tad harsh on the Pig lads because they are not as old as I might have suggested... well you decide for yourselves... Here is the latest team photo taken with the Rose Bowl they won last season (See Pic).. Anyway this week they had to use all their years (and that's a lot) of experience to edge pasted a determined Harun side 6 - 4. The leagues tops three cueists were all in this match so it was inevitable two of them would meet, they did.. Ian Bishop out potting Mark Williams... He's now been replaced at the top of the averages by team mate Michael Nixon who won both his games as did the Pig's Bishop who lies second. The game itself had been nicely poised at four apiece before the Pig's Dave Simpson & Dave Fletcher took the final two frames for the match. The Harun now slip to third place and Rileys Exiles move back into second spot, this week they beat Rileys B.I.S.C. 6 - 4. Captain Lee Howkins leading the way for the Exiles with two excellent victories, Andy Howkins, Kelvin Hains Rob Bliss and Sam Howkins all winning a frame. B.I.S.C. had Pete Wilson in top form winning both his frames with singles from Jay Wilson & James Towers. The battle of the bottom two went the way of the Cherry Tree they just squeezed past the Miners 6 - 4. All the Snounou's were on the score sheet for the Tree as Simon x 2, Michelle and Stephen all won as did Paul Barnett and Dave Quaife, who took the last frame for the victory. The Miners had Ashley Mara, Barry Mara, Marcus Dowsett and Frazer Jones in the winners enclosure. Last but not least the Rose played host to arch rivals Eliotts... but the foreseen battle didn't materialise as Eliotts folded with out as much as a whimper.. Jamie Low and Kyle Allen both won two frames each... Nigel Farley and Rich Bradbury both won a frame plus in the battle of the captains Marc Ellis Cooper seven balled Michelle Orton... shame on you Marc!!!! .. Mick Golby, Rob Orton and Dave Glover on the card for the well beaten Eliotts... At the minute the biggest question in this Division seems to be is Lee Howkins turning into the Joker.. well you decide....(See Pics)

September 13th

League One:-- The top two sides in League One met this week in what promised to be a classic encounter. The old timers of the Pig & Whistle renowned for their attacking style of play would face the much younger version of themselves as the pot mad youngsters of Rileys Exiles paid them a visit. In a match destined to end quickly it was the Exiles who got off to a flying start with Kelvin Hains and Sam Howkins putting then 2 - 0 up is a matter of minutes. Malc Ashby put the veterans on the board with a typically flamboyant display, team mate Dave Fletcher then levelled with a lovely clearance before Pig captain Steve Moore won to edge them 3 – 2 in front. Exiles captain Lee Howkins was on cue to level the match but Ian Bishop took the next to put the Pig in the lead once more. Andy Howkins and Rob Bliss produced two top drawer performances to put the Exiles back in the driving seat as they looked to gain an important win. But Moore returned to the table for the Pig to clear well and give his side a well deserved share of the spoils. The draw between the top two sees the Hare & Hounds ‘B’ leapfrog Rileys into second place after their battling 6 – 4 victory at the Cherry Tree. Curtis Timson, Ric Foran and Mark Williams had put the Hare 3 – 1 up with Reece Crowson winning for the Cherry. The Cherry then took three frames in a row through Simon Snounou, Paul Barnett and Ray Raynor as they looked to win their first match of the season. But the Harun had other ideas and promptly won the next three frames to take the match, Ric Foran, Ryan Williams and Mark Williams all in the zone for the Heath End Roaders. Eliotts maintained their recent good run with a 6 – 4 success over the re-opened Miners. Dave Glover potting his way to a couple of frames plus singles from Mick Golby, Alwyn Deacon, Kelly Thacker and Michelle Orton. Barry Mara was also in fine form notching two wins with a frame apiece from son Ashley Mara and captain John Harrison. Elsewhere Rileys BISC and the Rose Inn shared the points in a very entertaining draw. Dale Wilson, Pete Wilson and Andy McIver put BISC 3 – 0 up before Nigel Farley took a frame for the Rose. Rich Bradbury then cut the deficit to one frame with a great finish, only to see Lee Boardman and Dale Wilson put BISC 5 – 2 up. Bradbury returned for the Rose to take his second frame of the evening to make it 5 - 3. That soon became 5 – 4 as Jamie Low held his nerve to complete a really tricky clearance. The captains faced off in the final frame with Marc Ellis-Cooper doing the business for the Rose to snatch the draw.

September 7th

Super League:-- The Royal Oak ‘A’ strengthened their grip on the Rileys sponsored Super Sunday Pool League with an empathic 9 – 1 victory on their trip to the Hare & Hounds. The win puts them 11 points clear of their rivals as they look to take their first ever league title. It all started so well for the Harun as Dean Wheeldon took the first frame beating Craig Smith but sadly for Wheeldon his team mates couldn’t muster another victory between them. Tom Smee, Darren Henton both won two frames plus one frame each from Graham Proctor, Dave Hinton, Ant Tedds, Lenny Sharpe and Smith who avenged his earlier defeat by beating Wheeldon in the seventh frame as the Oak ‘A’ march on. Rileys Rockets move into second place after their draw with sister side Rileys Elite. The Rockets had to give the Elite a two frame start due to a lack of players but their fighting spirit saw them through for the draw. Rockets had Andy Yearby and Ian Worthington on cue while Karl White performed well for the Elite
League One:-- League One leaders Pig Whistle continued their push for promotion with a hard fought 6 – 4 victory at the Rose. Steve Ridsdale and Ian Bishop put the Pig two nil up before Rose captain Marc Ellis Cooper pulled a frame back for the hosts. Malc Ashby and Dave Fletcher then extended the Pigs lead to four one. Staring a big defeat in the face Cooper turned to his best players and they duly obliged as first Jamie Low then Kyle Allen cut the deficit to one frame. Cooper himself then came to the table and despatched Dave Simpson to level the match. The turning point of the match came when Rich Bradbury over cut the black giving his opponent half a chance of victory. Many players may have wilted under the pressure but fortunately for the Pig Dave ‘Shakey’ Fletcher was on, he held his nerve once more to clear well to put the Pig 5 – 4 up. Pig Captain Steve Moore took on Nigel Farley in the last frame, Moore broke and scattered the pack potting four yellows and a red then promptly produced the fastest finish I’ve seen since Usain Bolt won the 100 meters at the Olympics to take the match for the Abbey Street boys. Elsewhere Rileys Exiles lost ground on the leaders after being held by the fast improving Cherry Tree. Simon Print and Stephen Snounou bagging a couple of wins apiece for the Cherry Tree while Sam Howkins and Rob Bliss were the pick of the Exiles. The Hare & Hounds ‘B’ slip to third place after their shock 6 – 4 defeat at the hands of Eliotts. Alwyn Deacon and Mick Golby were both in top form for Eliotts winning both their games with Dave Glover and Kelly Thacker winning one game each. The Harun had Mark Williams in awesome form taking both his frames with ease plus one frame apiece from Michael Nixon and Curtis Timson. Rileys BISC had the easiest victory though as the Miners failed to show gifting the game to the BISC boys.....

Super League:-- Rileys Rovers made it three wins in as many games to move 2 points clear at the top of the Super League. Rovers missing a host of quality players were made to work hard for their victory this week as the Harun 'A' refused to go down without a fight. But two wins from Chappers and Gaynor plus single frames from Giraffe Neck and Jaffa made sure of a third straight win. Dean Whealdon of the Harun continued his rich vein of form with another two wins. Royal Oak 'A' move into second place after cruising passed Rileys Elite 7 - 3. Craig Smith, Tom Smee and Ant Tedds all winning two frames for the Oak. Meanwhile the King William Rockets came back from 5 - 2 down to draw with the Royal Oak 'B'....
League One:-- Normality returned to league One this week as the Pig won and the Rose lost...The Pig and Whistle moved back to top spot after a comfortable 7 - 3 victory at the Cherry Tree. Steve Ridsdale and Ian Bishop put the Pig two as they looked to put their shock defeat to the Bill behind them. Paul Barnett took the third frame for the Cherry but the Pig were in the zone and took the next four frames through the returning hero Dave 'Shakey' Fletcher, captain Steve Moore and the dynamic duo of Ridsdale and Bishop. Barnett returned to the table for the Cherry to win his second frame of the match, Tim Styles won the next to cut the deficit even more before Moore finished the match in style for the Pig. Last weeks leaders Rileys Exiles found the Hare & Hounds table a tad fast for their liking as they went down 6 - 4 in a right royal tussle. The Harun 'B' went 3 - 1 up through Mark Williams Rich Foran and Michael Nixon... The Exiles responded by taking three in a row with Lee Howkins, Paul Bliss and Rob Bliss all out potting their opponents to put the Exiles 4 - 3 up. The changing point of the match came with Michael Nixon 7 balling Kelvin Hains, the momentum switched back to the Harun and Williams and Foran notched their second wins of the evening to give the Harun the spoils in an excellent match. The Miners produced a stunning performance as well, they were 4 - 2 down to the Rose before winning the last four frames for an excellent 6 - 4 victory. Ashley Mare started the comeback winning his second game of the night then wins from John Harrison, Marcus Dowsett and Barry Mara sealed the match for the Miners. Elsewhere Rileys B.I.S.C. and the King William 'A' shared the points in a five all draw. Rob Orton x2 Mick Golby, Yvonne Deacon and Dave Glover on cue for the Bill and Lee Boardman x2 Andy Mcvier, Pete Wilson and Jason Heaton winning for Rileys....

August 7th

League One:-- Leaders Pig & Whistle were left stunned by the hot potting exploits of the King William ‘A’. (can't believe I've just wrote that) The previously winless Bill got off to a flying start with Mick Golby taking the opener only for the Pig to level matters through Dave Simpson. The Bill then took four frames in a row thanks to Dave Glover, Michelle Orton, Alwyn Deacon and the inform Kelly Thacker. Simpson then took his second frame of the night for the Pig who where now looking to salvage a draw, but Glover made no mistake to give victory to the jubilant King William. The Bill’s Rob Orton won the ninth frame before Steve Moore won the last for the pig to make the score a little bit more respectable. The move to Rileys seems to have inspired the Boro boys who notched their first ever win in the league beating newcomers Cherry Tree 7 – 3. Steve Green, Andy Mciver and the impressive Jason Heaton who has yet to lose a game were all on cue with two frames apiece to move Rileys B.I.S.C into a mid table position. The Rose Inn also gained a first ever win at the Hare & Hounds beating the Harun ‘B’ 6 – 4. Marc Ellis Cooper played a captains innings winning both his games, he was ably assisted by Kyle Allen, Jamie Low, Rich Bradbury and Nigel Van Damme who all won one out of two. Michael Nixon the star for the Harun taking both his frames. All these topsy-turvy results mean Rileys Exiles who drew with the Miners move into top spot two points clear of the Pig. The Miners had gone 3 – 1 up through Ashley Mara, Dave Green and Dan Green but wins from Lee Howkins and Kelvin Hains brought the Exiles back into the match. Gary Bromley extended the Mines advantage only for Rob Bliss to level again for the Exiles. Dave Green then won his second frame of the match for the Miners to put his side on the brink of their first win this season only to see Sam Howkins produce the finish of the night to earn Exiles a hard fought draw.
Super League:-- Rileys Rovers moved 3 points clear of the rest after a tough 6 - 4 win against arch rivals Rileys Elite. For a third week in a row Mark Chapman got Rovers off to the perfect start with another break dish. Karl White levelled the scores before Mark Gaynor and Manc put Rovers 3 - 1 up. Neil Goodwin and Goose pulled the Elite level once more only to see the excellent Manc and Jase Page extend Rovers lead to 5 - 3.The utterly brilliant Mark Seaman then produced yet another scintillating display of exquisite pool (God I feel sick..) to cut the Elite deficit to one frame, but Steve Self held his nerve to take the final frame and the match for Rovers. King William Rockets notched their first win of the season beating the Royal Oak 6 - 4. The highlights of the night were the Oak's Craig Smith 7 balling Joe Aiello and young Rocket Josh Griffiths putting Roger Smee to the sword in the fourth frame. The Royal Oak B returned to winning ways this week beating the Hare & Hounds A 7 - 3.

August 1st

D.C.C.T.:-- Holders Rileys Rovers were on cue in the first round of the Dave Cooper Challenge Trophy beating Rileys B.I.S.C. 6 - 2. Break dish expert Mark Chapman was at it again to put Rovers one up before Steve 'Rambo' Green pulled the sides level. Andy Hopkins, Jase Page, Keith Garner and Chappers put Rovers on the brink of victory. B.I.S.C. captain Alan 'Chelsea' Hudson then produced a stunning display of potting to beat Page to give his side a glimmer of hope but this was soon extinguished by Mark Gaynor who took the next frame and the match for Rovers. The Pig and Whistle played last season's runners up Royal Oak 'B' and might have caused a huge upset if they'd have had five players, but with only four turning up they started 2 down. Rich Mills put the Oak one up then Ian Bishop beat Randle to make it one apiece. Paul Willis 7 balled Malc Ashby and Andy Bassett beat Steve Moore and with no fifth player the Pig found themselves 4 - 1 down at the half way point. Steve Risdale got the second half under way for the Pig taking the sixth frame then Ian Bishop broke dished Dave Alsop to make to 4 - 3. Malc Ashby managed to pot a few in his next game including the black to draw the sides level at four all. Knowing they didn't have a last player Steve Moore would have to beat Willis to force a play off draw but Mr Willis wasn't having any of it and duly left Moore with 7 balls on the table for his second 7 baller of the evening plus the match for the Oak 6 - 4 a great effort by the Pig boys though.... Just found out the player who failed to show was Dave 'Shakey' Fletcher so the Pig wouldn't have won anyway..... Elsewhere Rileys Elite beat the Cherry Tree 6 - 3 and the Hare & Hounds 'A' eased pasted the King William 'A' 6 - 2 despite Kelly Thacker eye-catching performance that had Bill Brown plus the Harun players and I might add her own players staring in disbelief as she cleared the table. Also into Round Two go the King Williams Rockets but only just thanks to Ian Worthington and Joe Ailleo who won the final two frames of the night as they beat the Rose Inn 6 - 4. Last but not least is the upset of the round, the cup always throws one up and this year is no different. A great performance from the Hare & Hounds 'B' as they knocked out the Royal Oak 'A' 6 - 2. Michael Nixon leading the way with two wins plus singles from Richard Foran, Curtis Timson, Ryan & Mark Williams...

July 30th

Sorry for the delay in updating the site.... We've been experiencing technical difficulties... Hopefully it has all now been resolved...
Round Up from Match 2 in Division One... The Pig & Whistle go top thanks to their 10 -0 victory over the Miners. The Miners struggled to field a side in their opening fixture but will hopefully be back to normal asap..... Rileys Exiles move into second spot after beating the King William 'A' 7 - 3 Karl Haines and Sam Howkins both winning two frames but he highlight of the night was Mick Golby's Break Dish in the seventh frame against Lee Howkins... Hare & Hounds 'B' needed all their experience to deny Rileys B.I.S.C. a draw... Michael Nixon and St John Daniels leading the way for the Harun with Jason Henton continuing his good form for Rileys....

July 24th

Message for all Division One sides the Abbey Exiles have moved to Rileys and will be Rileys Exiles this means all their home games will be held at Rileys not the Abbey.... J

July 14th

Super League:-- Champions Royal Oak 'B' suffered a shock opening day defeat in the Rileys sponsored Super Sunday Pool League, going down 7 - 3 to their sister team the Royal Oak 'A'. Craig Smith followed by Tom Smee put the 'A' side two up before old timers Paul Willis and Andy Bassett drew the side’s level. The 'A' side then stretched their advantage with 3 frames in a row from Lenny Sharpe, Smith and the excellent Tom Smee. Col Richards pulled a leg back for the 'B' side with a super finish but any thoughts of a comeback were quickly quashed as Roger Smee and Graham Proctor were on cue to take the final two frames for this famous victory. Perennial runners up Rileys Rovers opened their season with a hard fought 6 – 4 victory over the King William Rockets. Rovers captain Mark Chapman putting in two top draw displays including a break dish in the opening frame, further wins from Jase Page, Steve Self, Mark Gaynor and Nathan Seaburn gave Rovers the points. Dark horses Rileys Elite have been busy strengthening their side for this campaign and it showed as they beat last season’s Division Two Champions the Hare & Hounds 'A' 7 – 3. New Boy Dean Clarke winning both his frames as did legendary cue man Mark Seaman who rolled by the years to produced some vintage pool, showing why he was once regarded as the best player in his house after his family and pets had gone out.....
Division One:-- New boys the Abbey Exiles go top in Division One after demolishing Rileys B.I.S.C 8 – 2, captain Lee Howkins leading the way for the Ex’s with two brilliant frames (That'll cost you 2 beers Lee). Early season favourites for the title Pig & Whistle beat the Hare & Hounds 'B' 6 – 4 but needed Dave Fletcher and Steve Moore to take the last two frames for the match. The Rose have the honour of being called the top side in Coton Road they had Kyle Allen and Rich Bradbury to thank as they eased to a 7 – 3 win over the King William 'A', Nigel Farley, Harla Farley and Jamie Low all winning a frame apiece. There was also a rare victory for Rob Orton for the King William he beat Jamie Low... Jamie didn't even bust his cue though it must have been tempting after losing to Bobo.. but he did however show why he's called Jamie the Javelin later that night (see Pic). Dave Glover also 7 balled Marc Ellis Cooper in the 9th frame... just thought I'd mention that... No reason really... alright Marc... J.... And finally a big BIG THANK YOU to fixture secretary Daniel Evans for forgetting to give the Miners their fixtures leaving the Cherry Tree to sit & wait, just playing with themselves J .. Not literally I hasten to add.. Playing Pool amongst themselves.... Nice One SHEP!!!!

Rose Bowl:-- The form book was ripped up and thrown out the window when the Pig & Whistle and the Hare & Hounds 'A' met in the final of the Rose Bowl. The Harun had already beat the Pig 9 - 1 & 7 - 3 in the league and must have thought it was going to be a quick night.....Read More

June 25th

Dave Cooper Challenge Trophy:-- Holders Rileys Rovers squeezed into the final by just edging the Royal Oak 'A' 6 - 4. In a repeat of last season's epic Semi Final no team manage to dominate as frames were shared throughout the match. Lenny Sharpe the pick of the Oak lads popping in two excellent displays... Mark GAYnor and Lee Steptoe were the pick of the Rileys lot.... But it was left to the Rev Stick himself to clinch victory for Rovers. In the other semi last years Runners Up Royal Oak 'B' secured their spot in the final thanks to a tight 6 - 4 win over a rejuvenated Maroon 5+1. The Oak had vintage performances from Paul 'Fudge' Willis and Neil 'Chicken' Randle as they made it a repeat of last years final.
Rose Bowl:-- With the Pig & Whistle already assured a place in the final it was left to the Hare & Hounds 'A' and Rileys Rockets to decide who would meet them their. Well it started badly for the Rockets and only got worst as the Harun powered to victory with Bill Brown and Phil Sayer in explosive form. the only bright spot in a bleak night for the Rockets was Steve Olner's clearance....
J 'n' J Sunday Shield:-- Holders the Hare & Hounds 'B' gave themselves the chance to retain the J 'n' J Sunday Shield as they edged passed the King William 'A' into the final 6 -3. It was nip & tuck for most of the evening until 33 unanswered frames turned the tie in the Harun's favour... Richard Foran, Michael Nixon and Mark Williams all in sparkling form the Hounds... In the other Semi the Rose eased passed the Boro' Socialites 6 - 2 thus setting up a repeat of last years final.. Nigel 'Van Damme' Farley at his clinical best for the Rose while the Boro' had Andy Mckiver at his I'll laugh at everything best.....

June 19th

League One:-- The Royal Oak maintain their grip on the Super Sunday League taking their fourth title in a row.... Rileys Rovers kept the pressure on for most of the season but faded badly towards the end of the season.... Well done to Paul Willis who won the league averages... Who said it was a young man's game???? 6 out of the top 10 players in the rankings are over 40...
League Two:-- The Hare & Hounds 'A' finished the season win a record 10th straight win... with a record 28 point gap between them and second placed Pig & Whistle and no-one broke a cue this year!!!!! Hare & Hounds 'B' finished in a creditable 3rd place... Down the bottom the Rose battered the King William 'A' 8 - 2 to win the battle of the wooden spoon... The Bill 'A' then even lost the spoon by being replaced at the bottom by the King William 'B'.... Andy West taking the League Two averages for a second time....

June 11th

Congratulations to Danny Evans & Steve Tedds, Andy Bassett & Ade Pinnegar for reaching the doubles final. In a night of high quality Pool these for some how managed to stumble through to the final... Meanwhile the Krankies beat old timers Chicken Randle & Col Richards before doing Graham Proctor & Dave Lea in the semis... The Final can be arranged between the players but If you can't agree on it.. We'll set the date....

All the Cup Semi Finals are now on line.....

May 27th

League Two:-- Congratulations to the Hare & Hounds 'A' who lifted the League Two title with a game to spare. They out potted the Pig & Whistle 7 - 3 their 9th consecutive league victory of the season. Mick McCool and Dean Whealdon on cue for the Harun. The Pig remain second despite this defeat, however they only lead the Hare & Hounds 'B' by 1 point now. They took full advantage of he Pig's defeat by battering the King William 'A' 7 - 3. Mark Williams, Michael Nixon and Richard Foran all in excellent form for the Heath End Roaders. So with only one match remaining its between the Pig & the Harun 'B' for the Runners Up spot. The Pig start slight favourites for this as they entertain the King William 'B' while the Harun 'B' have to travel all the way to the Harun to play the Hare & Hounds 'A'. Elsewhere the resurgent Rose took a beating on their short trip up Coton Road going down 8 - 2 to the King William 'B' only young Stephen Snounou saved their blushes by winning both his frames. This result means the King William 'A' and the Rose will battle it out the the dubious honour of finishing bottom of he league... I'll have a fiver on the Rose...J...
League One:-- The Royal Oak 'B' only need two frames from their last match to secure there fourth title in a row. This week they beat their closest rivals Rileys Rovers 6 - 4 with Paul Willis at his tactical best taking both his frames, the only player to do so on the night. Rovers stay second with the Royal Oak 'A' moving up to third in the table after they beat a very under strength Rileys Rockets. Rockets captain Danny Barr needs a couple more spaceman for next season.. so if you're interested he'll be coming around Neptune next Wednesday... Once title contenders Maroon 5+1 slip down to fourth place but are already building for next season... according to captain Chucky Fowler they will be the team to beat next year.. Urmm think I've found you a player Danny!!!!! Obviously off his meds.....

May 18th

League Two:-- The Rose Inn finally got their first win of the season and  boy what a win it was... High flying Hare & Hounds 'B' took the short trip down to the Coton Road watering hole looking to consolidated their second place in the league but got well and truly thumped by the Coton cueists... Either new signing Jamie Low has had a remarkable effect on his team mates or they actually remembered to bring their eyes for a change... I don't know ... but double wins from Low, Kyle Allen and Van Damme took the Rose off the bottom of the league for the first time this season.. Watch out league Two next season they may challenge for a mid table spot ... Michael Nixon & Mark Williams the only winners for a some what shell shocked Harun... Elsewhere the Pig & Whistle took full advantage of the Harun's defeat by hammering the King William 'A' by the same 8 - 2 score line. The win moves them back up in to second spot but their over 20 points behind leaders Hare & Hounds 'A'. Rizz, Bish, Shaky and captain Steve Moore all winning two apiece for the Pig with Yvonne Deacon and Martin Farmer taking the frames for the Bill... Finally the Hare & Hounds 'A' had a walk over against the non showing King William 'B' who now sit rooted to the bottom. This means the Harun will only need to win a couple of frames next week at the Pig & Whistle to lift the title with a game in hand...Nice!!
League One:-- The Royal Oak 'B' look set to maintain their stranglehold on the League One title thanks to a 10 - 0 thrashing of the Boro Socialites. Nearest rivals Rileys Rovers could only manage a draw against four man Rileys Rockets... so unless the Oak capitulate in their final two matches the title will be theirs for a record fourth time.... Leaving Rovers to ponder what might have been had they been bothered enough!!!!!  Maroon 5+1 who started the season so well managed to notch their first win for 4 matches easing past the Royal Oak 'A' 6 - 4.... It moves them above the Oak 'A' into third spot  as high as they can go due to the dominance of the Oak 'B' and Rovers.....

May 5th

Dave Cooper Challenge:--
Pool One:- Maroon 5+1 moved a step closer to the Semi - Finals with a hard earned draw with the Hare & Hounds 'A'. They now only need to draw with the King Williams 'A' in their final match to secure their spot. The other match in this pool saw the Bill 'A' take the last two frames to snatch a draw against the improving Rose Inn. The Rose have been busy in the transfer market this week signing the legendary cue snapper Jamie Low up on a free transfer ...Watch out for splinters next time your at the Rose....
Pool Two:- Champions Rileys Rovers eased effortlessly into the semi with a comfortable win over the King William 'B'... The Pig & Whistle eventually found the Boro' Club (I Know we struggled as well)... and won 7 - 3 ....

Mark Gaynor & Al Jones on cue for Rovers while Andy Bassett & Rich Mills fired for the Oak. Gaynor also moves to the top of he averages.... Elsewhere the Royal Oak 'A' crushed the Boro Socialites 10 - 0 to move into third place ..
League Two:-- Champions elect the Hare & Hounds 'A' eased to their 7th straight victory of the season.. the Rose simply had no answer to the cue power of Andy West and co.... The result puts the Harun 'A' a massive 23 points clear at the top of the league... The Hare & Hounds 'B' moved into second place this week thanks to a 6 - 4 victory over the Pig and Whistle St John Daniels and Ryan Williams winning the last two frames for the Harun... It's the highest league position ever for he Harun boys as the Pig slip to third spot.... Meanwhile the battle of the King William went to the 'A' team despite the best efforts of Nigel Griffiths & son Josh, they both won two frames for the 'B' side but they went down 6 - 4... Captain Michelle Orton and Yvonne Deacon in sparkling form for the King 'A'

April 29th

The last 8 will be held at Rileys...

April 21th

Pig & Whistle take the first Trophy of the season beating King William 'A' 6 - 4 in a very tight final. Leah Clarke put the Bill one up before 'Bish' cleared to level matters. Ex Pig cueist Mick Golby edged the Bill back in front before two quick fire frames from player star man Dave 'Shaky' Fletcher and captain Steve Moore put the Pig in the lead at the half way stage... Dave Davies levelled the match once more with a fine clearance. The Pig then turned on the style as 'Bish' and Malc Ashby gave their opponents no chance with some super slick pool to move them to within a frame of victory.. Young Shaun Hayward not only celebrated his first win in a while (2 years apparently according to the card) but also the wining frame for the Pig... Bobo took the last frame for the Bill but it was just a consolation frame as the Final had already been lost.. In the 3rd & 4th place off match the Rose Inn notched their first win of the competition beating the in form Hare & Hounds 'B' 6 - 5 in a play-off.. 12 year old Stephen Snounou doing the honours for the Rose beating Mark Williams.. The Rose went two up through captain Marc Ellis Cooper and Nigel 'Van Damme' Farly before Harun captain St John Daniels with Ryan Williams squared the match at 2 a piece.. Harla 'Mini-Van Damme' Farley and Cooper then restored the 2 frame lead for the Rose only to see the Harun take 3 in a row with Richard Foran, Mark Williams and Adam Host all on cue to put the Harun in front for the first time... Young Harla then held her nerve to beat Foran to level the match and force the play off in which Stephen Snounou duly obliged...

Player of the Tournament Dave 'Shaky' Fletcher of the Pig and Whistle....J

April 14th

League One:-- Rileys Rockets or as it appeared on the score card 'Ronny Corbets Rockets' (don't worry Chuck I wont mention it was you...ok) produced another fighting display against Maroon 5+1... Wins from Danny Barr x2 (???) Andy Yearby x2, Paul Barnett & Steve Olner had put the Rockets 5 - 3 .... but alas they couldn't get that all important 6th frame as Karl White & Neil Goodwin took the last two frames for the Maroon boys to clinch the draw... Incidentally it was Karl & Neil's 2nd win of the evening... The battle of Arbury Road ended all square between The Royal Oak 'A' & 'B'... Veteran Andy Bassett saving the game for the 'B' with a awesome display... Meanwhile leaders Rileys Rovers cruised to victory over the Boro' Socialites who were most entertaining especially Mr McIver...
League Two:-- Leaders Hare & Hounds 'A' stormed passed King William 8 - 2 to open up an impressive 19 point gap between themselves and second placed Pig & Whistle.. The Pig ease into 2nd spot thanks mainly to a 6 - 4 victory over the Rose but also thanks to the King William 'B' who couldn't muster up a team to play the Harun 'B' who also capitalize and move into 3rd spot.....

April 12th

The doubles draw is now on line....

April 10th

Dave Cooper Challenge:--
Pool A:-- The King William 'A' put in the best performance of the season when holding the Hare & Hounds 'A' to a fine draw... Rob (Bobo) Orton taking two frames for the Bill while his SISTER Leah beat the 1983 Whitbread Open Pool Champion Phil 'The Till' Sayer. The draw helps Maroon 5+1 to go 7 points clear of the Pool after they beat the Rose Inn 7 - 3. Ross Krupa and Paul Gosling on fire for Chuck's men while the Rose Inn had the dynamic duo of Van Damme and Marc Rogers x2 to thank for their points. (mind it all got to much for them and they had to have a rest) (see pic)
Pool B:-- Holders Rileys Rovers more or less secured their spot in the Semi Finals with a 9 - 1 thumping of the Pig & Whistle... Malc Ashby on cue for the Pig 7 balling Mark Gaynor.... The King William 'B' benefiting from the above result to move into second spot after their faultless 10 - 0 victory over the Boro' Socialites....
Pool C:-- Rileys Rockets seemed to have finally found there feet this season. They put in another impressive display holding the Royal Oak 'A' to a draw with only four players and when you consider two of those four were Steve 'The Claw' Blakemore & Danny 'The Train-spotter' Barr it was even more impressive. The Royal Oak 'B' took advantage of there 'A' teams draw to move 2 points clear at the top of the Pool beating the Hare & Hounds 'B' 7 - 3.

Dave Cooper Challenge:--
Pool A:-- Maroon +5 stay top of Pool A after a comfortable 8 - 2 win over Bobo's King William side. The Hare & Hounds 'A' keep within a few points of the Maroon boys after they beat the Rose 7 - 3. A special mention for Mr Andrew West who lost both his frames for the Harun J
Pool B:-- Holders Rileys Rovers maintained their push to the next phase of the tournament when thumping the Boro' Socialites 8 - 2. The Pig & Whistle remain second after edging the King William 'B' 6 -4.. Dave Simpson break dishing in fine style...
Pool C:-- The battle of the of the Oak boys ended all square thanks to Roger Smee & Graham Proctor taking the final two frames. Rileys Rockets season finally took off as they beat the Hare & Hounds 'B' 7 -3 Paul Barnett also ended his barren run with 2 wins.
League One:-- Rileys Rovers went 4 points clear of the rest thanks to a smooth 8 - 2 win over the Boro' Socialites. Paul Pickin with a great clearance for the Boro' when beating Chappers...

March 5th

Maroon +5 consolidated their position at the top of League One with a hard fought 6 – 4 win over newcomers the Boro’ Socialites. Chucky notched his fourth straight victory!!! (match fixing?) They now sit three points clear of the Royal Oak ‘B’ who this week ended Rileys Rovers unbeaten run beating them 6 – 4. Rovers couldn’t handle Chicken Randle who in inspirational form for the Stockingford potters (Well that's what he told me to say). Rileys Rockets misfired once again crashing 7 - 3 to the Oak ‘A’, who then took advantage of the extra tables in Rileys to play their game in hand with the Boro’ Socialites. The Boro’ may be wishing they hadn’t as the Oak out potted them 8 – 2.

The top two met in League Two with the Hare & Hounds ‘A’ roasting the Pig & Whistle 9 – 1 to go 10 points clear, only Ian Bishop was on cue for Abbey Street boys. Their stalemates the Harun ‘B’ were also in excellent form beating the King William ‘A’ 7 – 3, Mark Williams and St John Daniels both notching two wins apiece. Meanwhile the King William ‘B’ made the short trip down Coton Road worthwhile by beating the Rose Inn 7 – 3 to move up to second place in the table.

February 28th

Singles:-- Holder Andy Bassett breezed into the quarter finals without dropping a frame. Stuart Tedstone & Simon Snounou could find no way of slowing down the hot potting  veteran Bassett. Berty will be joined in the next round by a couple more elderly cue men as both Steve Tedds & Graham Proctor eased into the last eight. The biggest shock of the night though came at Rileys where Tour player Mark Chapman nearly did the unthinkable and beat Bob Jefferies. Amazingly Chappers had gone 2 nil up and looked set to finish off his legendary opponent, but 1 loose shot cost him dear as Joffers turned on the style to run out a comfortable 3-2 winner. Chappers was left to rue missed chances at what would have undoubtedly been his beat career victory to date. Sadly for Joffers he found Michael Nixon a tougher nut to crack and went home early as Nixon beat him 3 - 2. Also into the last eight are Rebecca McCool who out potted Nuneaton Town team mate Mark Gaynor and Al Jones who edged past Icky 'nearly a tour player' Singh and Roger Smee to win his group. England Under 21 Ben 'You know the Rules' Gilbey  had a smooth passage in the next phase beating Daniel Barr and last but not least the Dark horse for Bassett's crown Dave Lea beat Phil 'The Till' Sayer 3-1 to book his place in the final eight. Phil has early beaten team mate Andy West 3 - 2 in an epic encounter.

Reds Challenge Cup: Leaders Pig & Whistle were held to a draw by a resurgent King William 'A'. The Bill were trailing 5 - 2 and looking at a heavy defeat before Mick Golby, Michelle Orton along with the ever reliable Alwyn Deacon all won to square the match.... Honours were even in the other tie as well, Nigel Farley of the Rose taking the last frame to secure the draw..

February 20th

Rileys 'A' have now withdrew from League One... All their results have been scrapped... They have been replaced by the Boro' Socialites who play from the Nuneaton Borough F.C. Social club in Eastborough Way...

February 14th

This week the Super Sunday Pool League entered Round Two of the Dave Cooper Challenge Trophy. The tie of the round was in Pool One where we had the battle of the Coton Roaders with the King William entertaining close friends and fierce rivals the Rose Inn. Both teams were desperate for the win that would not just give them some much needed points but more importantly the bragging rights over the others until there next encounter. Both sides started nervously with a lot of missed pots before Rob Orton eventually beat Kyle Allen to take the opener for the Bill. Mick Golby soon put them two up before Simon Snounou pulled a frame back for the Rose. Alwyn Deacon was again on cue as he continued his winning run with another excellent display, his wife Yvonne then easily out potted Nigel Farley to extend the Bills lead as the Rose began to wilt under the immense pressure. They turned to star man Kyle Allen to get them back into the match, he duly obliged with a solid display. With the match nicely balanced at 4 – 2 Bill captain Michelle Orton decided to put on her two best cueists to finish off the struggling Rose. It turned out to be a masterstroke as Alwyn Deacon and Rob Orton both had straightforward wins to secure the much sought after victory. Nigel Farley and Marc Ellis Cooper took the final two racks for the Rose adding a little respectability to the score line.  Elsewhere in this Pool the Hare & Hounds ‘A’ produced a stunning fight back coming back from 5 – 1 down to earn a draw against this seasons form team Maroon 5+1, landlord Phil Sayers leading the charge with two fine performances.

In Pool 3 the Royal Oak ‘A’ beat Hare & Hounds ‘B’ 9 – 1, the Harun had Helen Daniels to thank for stopping the dry rub as she beat Lenny Sharpe in fine style. This pool now looks like a two horse race between the Royal Oak sides as the ‘B’ team beat Rileys Rockets 7 – 3 to stay just four puts behind their stable mates.

February 3rd

League Two:--The slick potting Hare & Hounds ‘A’ moved three points clear at the top of League Two in the Super Sunday Pool League after a 7 – 3 victory over the King William ‘B’. It was the first defeat of the season for the Bill as the pre season favourites maintained their 100% record. Dave Rogers was again on cue for the Harun with another 2 wins, he was ably assisted by Andy West and Dean Wheldon. The result sees the Bill slip to third spot with the Pig & Whistle moving up to second place. They shared an entertaining 5 all draw with the King William ‘A’. Even though Steve Cotton and Ian Bishop were on top form for the Abby Street cueists they couldn’t finish off the Bill who battled well with Alwyn Deacon rolling back the years with two excellent displays. The Pig may well have edged the game had their star man David Fletcher been available. Elsewhere the Hare & Hounds ‘B’ moved out of the bottom two after beating the Rose Inn 7 - 3. The game was nicely poised at 4 – 3 to the Harun, the Rose Inn were looking to pull level with Kyle Allen in firm control of the eighth  frame but Michael Nixon hadn’t read the script and promptly cleared from nowhere to give his side the extra momentum they needed. Mark Williams and St John Daniels then took the final two frames as the Harun eased to victory. Nigel Farley’s two wins in vain for the Rose Inn who now sit rooted to the bottom of the table.

League One:-- In League One Maroon 5+1 moved into pole position after an eye catching 8 – 2 win over the Royal Oak ‘A’. Chuckey’s Fowlers men buoyed by a couple of new signings put in their best ever performance in the Sunday League. Rileys Rovers remain in second spot just 2 points behind the leaders; they blew away Rileys Rockets 9 – 1 Steve ‘The Claw’ Blakemore the only winner for the well beaten Rockets.

January 25th

Rileys Rovers started their defence of the Dave Cooper Challenge Trophy with an excellent 9 – 1 victory at League Two leaders Pig & Whistle. Ian 'The Dish' Bishop the only winner for the Pig with a stunning 8 ball clearance against Jase Page. Page had cleared from the break but jawed the black, Bishop finish was top draw. The other Pool 2 match saw Rose Bowl champions Rileys ‘A’ entertain King William ‘B’. A very supporting Rileys didn’t try to claim any frames off the late arriving King William, then promptly went two nil down. But they regrouped and reeled off seven of the next 8 frames to run out 7 – 3 winners.

In Pool 3 last years Trophy runners up the Royal Oak ‘B’ took on the J n J Super Sunday Shield holders Hare & Hounds ‘B’. The Oak proved far too strong for their lower league opponents powering to an 8 – 2 victory. Richard Foran put in an eye catching performance for the Harun winning both his frames. The 10 star performers of the night were the Royal Oak ‘A’ they demolished Rileys Rockets 10 – 0. Roger Smee’s cueists were all on top form as Mr Barr’s Rockets misfired once again.

In Pool 1 Maroon plus 5 made short work of an under strength Rose Inn coming away with a 9 – 1 win. Kyle Allen sparing the Roses blushes beating the unlucky Neil Goodwin. The Hare & Hounds ‘A’ were made to work hard by the King William ‘A’ before edging a 6 – 4 win. Harun captain Bill Brown was on cue to take the final frame as the King William pushed for a draw.

January 15th

League One:-- Rileys Rovers maintained their winning start to the season with a comfortable 7 – 3 over stable mates Riley Elite. Chucky Fowler’s men have never beaten Rovers which is no real surprise (cos were far superior).. Anyway they needed a good start so when Paul Gibbs and Ross Krupa put them 2 – 1 up things seemed promising. But five unanswered frames from Paul Webb, Lee Steptoe, Mark Gaynor and Steve Tedds x 2 saw Fowler’s hopes dashed yet again. Never mind Chuck... The Royal Oak ‘B’ stay top after easing pasted Rileys Rockets by the same 7 -3 score line. 11 year old Warwickshire youth player James Willis on cue for the Oak winning his first Sunday night frame at only his second attempt. Dad Paul was also on the mark for the Oak as the Rockets ran out of Steam. Mark Banks x2 the man on track for Danny Barr's train spotters. Elsewhere in League One the Royal Oak ‘A’ bounced back from their first week defeat in fine style hammering a lacklustre Rileys ‘A’ 8 – 2.

League Two:-- The Pig & Whistle lead the way in league Two after an impressive 9 – 1 thumping of the Hare & Hounds ‘B’. Harun captain St John Daniels stopping the dry rub beating Dave ‘Shaky’ Fletcher in the eight frame. Legendary cue-man Steve Cotton back out of retirement was awesome??? apparently!!! Meanwhile the Hare & Hounds ‘A’ faired better on their trip to the Rose coming away with a fine 7 -3 win. Rebecca McCool maintained her 100% record as did Dave Rogers. Sadly both Andy West and the Rose Inn's Marc Rogers lost their 100% records. The performance of the night though came from 11 year old Stephen Snounou who beat Mick McCool for his maiden league victory. Just up the road the King Bill ‘A’ played host to the King William ‘B’, with the B side running out 6 – 4 winners. Landlord Nigel Griffiths in superb form for the 'B' side... Bobo and Yvonne amongst the 'A' teams winner's....

January 8th

Dave Cooper Challenge Trophy:-- Rileys Rovers clinched the inaugural Dave Cooper Challenge Trophy with a hard fought 6 - 4 victory over the Royal Oak 'B'. Mark Chapman the hero for Rileys beating Andy Bassett in the final frame....

Rose Bowl:-- More success for Rileys as Rileys 'A' hold off a spirited fight back from the Hare & Hounds 'A' to lift the Rose Bowl 6 - 4... Rileys averages legend Karl White beating Bill Brown in the tenth frame.. Karl White took the cup averages to go with the league 1 averages plus the overall averages... oh and the Warwickshire Interleague averages to boot!!! Blinking blimey Karl...

J n J Sunday Shield:-- The Hare & Hounds 'B' made sure the Harun wouldn't end the night without victory as the fought back from 3 - 1 down to lift the J n J Sunday Shield with a close 6 - 4 victory over the Rose Inn. Karl Allen, Nigel Farley and Rob Orton had fired the Rose into a 3 - 1 lead. But the Harun then took four in a row with Richard Foran, Michael Nixon, Singe Daniels and Ryan Williams on cue for the Heath End Roaders. Rob Orton pulled a frame back for the Rose with his second win of the night. Before Mark Williams produced a black that his more famous namesake would have been proud of to the beat Rose captain Marc Ellis Cooper to secure the Harun 'B' first piece of silverware...

January 1st

Happy New Year!!!!!

3rd December 2007

Dave Cooper Challenge Trophy:-- The Royal Oak 'B' eased into the final of the Dave Cooper Challenge Trophy beating a very spirited Pig & Whistle side 6 - 2... Ian Bishop the only winner for the Pig beating Paul Willis in both his frames including a break dish... Sadly for him though his team mates couldn't knick a frame as Chick Randle x2 John Martin, Ben Gilbey plus old timers Andy Bassett and Col Richards were all on cue for the Oak. They will meet Rileys Rovers who just edged Royal Oak 'A' 6 - 5 in a cracking match. Steve Tedds beating Tom Smee in the play off with a monster black down the rail...

Rose Bowl:-- The Hare & Hounds 'A' gained revenge over the Fir Tree who beat them in last season Rose Bowl final with a 6 - 2 victory to reach their second successive Rose Bowl final.. They will play Rileys 'A' who they played in the group stages earlier, they beat Rileys Elite 6 - 4 thanks to Andy Yearby's precise eyes closed double from the top rail into the middle pocket... never mind Chuck...

J n J Sunday Shield:-- With the Hare & Hounds 'B' already in the final thanks to the Coniston dropping out the battle was on to see who would play them... The Rose or the Co-op Clowns.... well the form book was well and truly threw out the window as the Rose upset the odds winning a titanic match 6 - 5.. To be fair the Co-op were a man down but saying that the Rose played Bobo twice and Van Damme so it evened itself out.... Captain Marc Ellis Cooper doing the honours beating Paul Barnett in the Play Off...

20th November 2007

Finals December 16th...

14th November 2007

Dave Cooper Challenge Trophy:--

Group 1:-- Rileys Rovers top the table but had to dig deep at their visit to the Harun... The home side stormed into a 3 - 0 through before Mark Gaynor cleared the table to put Rovers on the scoreboard, they then took four in a row to go 5 - 3... Andy West steadied the ship taking nicking the ninth frame for the Harun but their hopes of a daw where soon dashed as Stuart Tedstone potted an awesome black to give Rovers victory.. Rileys 'A' stay second after a comfortable 7 - 3 win at home to the Harun 'B' Sean Orr on form for Rileys..

Group 2:-- Royal Oak 'B' all but secured their place in the final thanks to an 8 - 2 thumping of the Rose Inn.. the Rose can take heart though with some good performances coming from their not so regular players... Stacey Rogers put on the best show though beating local legend Paul 'Fudge' Willis with some ease I might add.. also Bobo beat Berty... The Royal Oak 'A' now need a minor miracle to top this group after their 7 -0 win over he Coniston.. its mathematically possible but sorry I can't see it...

Group 3:-- The Pig & Whistle still lead despite going down 6 - 4 to the departing Fir Tree... the Tree stay second as the Co-op and Rileys Elite's game was cancelled.

7th November 2007

League One:-- With the title decider cancelled it was a chance for Rileys 'A' and the Hare & Hounds 'A' to try and cement their place in the top flight next season.. both though were soundly beaten.... Rileys 'A' went down on their trip to table 2 to play Rileys Elite but managed to score 1 more point than the Harun who were soundly beaten by the Royal Oak 'A'.... This means we have a title decider and a relegation decider.... The Royal Oak 'B' have to beat Rileys Rovers 6 - 4 to knick the title while Rovers can afford the draw.... The Hare & Hounds 'A' must beat Rileys 'A' 9 - 1 to stay up and considering they have failed to win a single mach this season it'll be a tall order for Heath End Road outfit....

League Two:-- The Rose Inn were on cue to beat divisional champions the Co-op Clowns in the finally game of the season 6 - 4... It was the Clowns first taste of defeat in the league this season as the rampant Rose came back from 4 - 2 down to take the final 4 frames through Marc Ellis Cooper, Nigel Farley, Harla Farley and Shaun Diamond. It was a bad night for captain Claw... he was 7 balled by Cooper in his first frame then beaten by the ever improving 14 year old school girl Harla Farley...(who when beating the Claw won the Lord of the Rings Box set off captain Marc Ellis Cooper)...The Fir Tree claimed second spot with a 7 - 3 verdict of the Hare & Hounds 'B' while the Pig had a walk over over the non showing Coniston.

5th November 2007

Sorry we've had a minor technical problem with this part of the site... a full update will follow in a couple of days... thank you...

Well done to Dodge & Ben on winning the doubles!!!!!

19th October 2007

Firstly may I just apologise for not updating this site for a few days... I've been unable too due to the fact I'm still laughing at what happened up the Harun.. Anyway enough said I won't mention in again...Somone might get snappy with me...lol... Must have a split personality?

League One:-- Rileys Rovers maintained their good run with an empathetic victory at the Hare & Hounds... The game had been nicely balanced at 2 - 1 thanks to Mick McCool's clearance against Mark Chapman (see Pic).... The turning point came when a Harun Player who shall remain nameless (ok Andy) went in off and promptly dismantled his cue firstly on the table and then his Knee (see Pic)... (by the way there is no truth in the rumour that he nearly missed his knee!!)... Rovers never looked back after this and took the match 8 -2... Rileys 'A' did their other team a huge favour holding the Royal Oak 'B' to a draw with Karl White & Sean Orr at the double for Rileys with John Martin & Paul Willis also winning two frames for the Oak..... This result puts Rovers 14 points clear of the Oak 'B'... the Oak 'B' still have a game in hand against the Oak 'A' and will need a big win to put some pressure on Rovers whom they play in the last match of the season.. It may come down to a winner takes all battle.... Talking of the Oak 'A' they were in fine form on their visit to Rileys beating the Elite 6 - 4... Tom Smee winning 2 for the Oak with Ross (got it right) Krupa wining both his frames for the Elite...

League Two:-- Congratulations to the Co-op Clowns winners of League Two, with the Pig & Whistle victory at the Fir Tree the Co-op now have an unassailable 13 point lead so can't be caught...Captain Steve 'The Claw' Blakemore is said to be delighted and busy clearing a space on his mantelpiece..  But on a more cheerful note for the Fir Tree Steve Berry has won the divisional averages... Since the Pig managed to get their first win they now can't stop winning, they were 4 - 1 down before taking five frames in a row to beat the Fir Tree 6 - 4... Malc Ashby on fire for the Pig with captain Steve Moore winning the all important 12th frame.... Elsewhere the Rose and Harun 'B' fought out a 5 all draw with Marc Ellis Cooper & Rob Orton in fine form for the Rose and a nice double win from the Harun's Richard Foran...

8th October 2007

Congratulations to Sean Orr winner of the Winter League Super Sunday Shoot -Out..... another great night of pool... thanks to everyone that made the effort to come and support the league... to get over 40 players at such short notice was brilliant effort on your part... many thanks.... Chick Randle's record of 3 first round defeats was beaten by Ian 'Swerve' Worthington who actually managed to lose 4 times in the 1st round... quite an achievement Swerve....And you got to the Singles Final...lol

1st October 2007

Singles:-- Congratulations to Andy Bassett who beat Ian Worthington in a thrilling singles Final last night.... Berty came back from 4 - 0 down to edge Swerve 5 - 4, the greatest come back since Liverpool came back to beat A C Milan in the Champions League final in 2005... Report will follow....

Just a reminder their is a Super Sunday Shoot -Out this Sunday 7th October at Rileys... 7 pm Break -Off £2 to enter...all money paid out....

24th September 2007

League One:-- Rileys Rovers moved 10  points clear at the top of League One after edging Rileys Elite 6 - 4 in a real thriller. Ross or is it Russ? I think it's Ross.. well he got the Elite off to a great start with a quality finish before Lee Steptoe produced a even better clearence to draw Rovers level. Paul Gibbs and Ian Fowler quickley put the Elite 3-1 up... Chucky's black was quite remarkable... out of a snooker off two rails and in the middle off Icky's yellow... a shot Andy Yearby would of been proud of...  Steve Tedds and Steppy brought the sides level with Steppy again showing why he's considered one of the best players in the town. Ross Krupa took his second frame of the evening to re-establish the Elite's lead before a trio of excellent finishes by Mark Chapman, Alun Jones and Steve Tedds took the game for Rovers.... Steve Tedds break dishing in the last frame for the victory.....Meanwhile the Royal Oak 'B' could only mange a 5 all draw on their visit to the Harun with Andy West firing on all cylinders for the hosts....But the Oak have a game in hand and also have to play Rileys Rovers, so remain favourites for the title... In the other match Rileys 'A' beat the Royal Oak 'A' 7 - 3...

League Two:-- Leaders Co-op Clowns entertained second placed Fir Tree this week in a right ding dong battle. Danny Barr put the Co-op one up.. Only to see Pete Wildig equalize for the Tree minutes later... Chico was on hand to pop the Clowns 2 -1 up with a simple finish. The Tree then turned on the style Chris Lackenby, Steven Berry and Wilf all putting in excellent performances to move the Tree 4 -2 up. Old timer Pierre Flavell stemmed the tide as he pulled a frame back for the Clowns before Martin Paul took out Chico to put the Arley boys on the brink of victory. But the Co-op are made of sterner stuff these days and Danny 'popeye' Barr and Pierre took the last two frames to snatch a draw and most probably the title..  Elsewhere the Pig & Whistle finally won a match...and may I say in emphatic style ...9 - 1 over the luckless Hare & Hounds 'B'... Michael Nixon saving the blushes of the Harun beating Malc Ashby.... The Rose Inn had a much easier victory beating the non showing Coniston......

Don't forget it's the Singles this coming Sunday at Rileys 8pm break off... All welcome come

2nd September 2007

Important Message to all teams... All outstanding League Matches MUST be played by October 21st... Any matches that still have not been rearranged and played will be scored 0-0... Also you are not permitted to cancel the final League fixture on October 28th.... Thank you....

28th August 2007

League One:-- Rileys Rovers sent out a warning to their rivals with a resounding 9 - 1 thumping of the Royal Oak 'A'....Roger Smee saving the dry rub taking the last frame for the Oak..... Elsewhere it was draw city with Rileys Elite being held by Royal Oak 'B' and Rileys 'A' sharing the points with the Hare & Hounds 'A'

League Two:-- The Co-op clowns continue their relentless march to the title with a 9 - 1 roasting of The Pig...Mick Golby saving the Pig's blushes taking the last frame off top clown Pierre Flavelll.....The gap between the Co-op and the Fir Tree is now 8 points after the Tree could only manage a 6 - 4 win at home to the Rose.....

22nd August 2007

Doubles:--  Some of the town's best players descended on Rileys Sunday Night... Producing a highly competitive tournament full of top quality pool plus a rare bit of sublime magic from Paul & Debbie aka Sean Orr & Karl White.... Luck I'll never call Andy Yearby the jammiest player I Know again.... Nar??? of course he is....Anyway the preliminary games were over in a flash but 'Berty & Pinny' had only just ground out a 1 - 0 lead over the soon to be bored senseless Andy West & Bill Brown. The Other 3 tables were soon in use Ben Gilbey & 'Dodgy' made quick work of 'Mank & Chappers... 'Gibbo' & Gareth despatched holders Tom & Roger Smee in a tight decider while Debbie & Paul had gone 2 down to 'Steppy & Jona' but they threw caution to the wind in the next 3 frames bamboozling Lee & Al with some rather fortunate shots.. (jammy ba%&**$s) ..J meanwhile Bert & Pinn had moved 2 - 0 up... Mark Williams & Richard Foran along with Danny Barr & Mark Banks dry rubbed their opponents to ease into the next round... JM & Col Richards were made to dig deep before edging past Graham Proctor & Ant Tedds....The last match of the round started as the first one was still in progress...Swerve & Cylo beating The Claw & Snozzer 3 -2.. As the next round started Hurricane Bassett & Whirlwind Pinnegar had forged into a 2 - 1 lead.. While Andy & Bill had a nap..... Ben & Dodge blitzed Williams & Foran 3 - 0 to move into the semis.... they were soon joined by Gibbo & Knight who beat The Train Spotter & Banks 3-2... It was at this point that Berty & Pinn finally won their match 3 -1... thank god it didn't go to a decider!!!!.... Debbie & Paul were next in line for the Super fast Bassett n Pinnegar.... their ploy of playing really really open worked and they took the match 3 - 2 in a record time of 1 hour 32 minutes ... meanwhile John & Colin had beaten Swerve & Cylo to fill the last semi final spot.... The semi's saw Karl & Sean play some excellent pool to ease their way into the final 3 -1... on the other table Ben & Dodge beat their team mates JM and Col by the same score line....

14th August 2007

League Two:-- The Fir Tree popped in the performance of the week beating the Coniston with just 4 players..... plus they lost the first 2 frames so were in retrospect 4 - 0 down.... So hats off to messers Chris Lackenby, Steven Orton, Keith Wilson and Steve Berry for a splendid display.. (sadly we have no photos of their players so here's a picture of a Fir Tree).. Steve Berry can be particularly pleased with his victories as they move him to the top of the League Two rankings.... However they are still 5 points behind the leaders the Co-op Clowns... The Clowns turned over the in form Hare & Hounds 'B' 6 - 4, with Captain Claw leading his men for he fifth time this season.... Top Clown was Dave Rollason with a fine seven baller although he was pushed hard by the other performing Clowns Danny Barr & Simon Snounou..... Michael Nixon Jnr winning both his frames for defeated Harun..... Meanwhile down Abbey Street at the Pig (we'll draw every game) & Whistle the visiting Rose Inn guess what... yep.... DREW.... The Pig had raced into a 4 - 2 lead when Bert and I popped our heads in to see what was happening... The following banter seemed to inspire the Rose and they levelled the match through the dynamic duo of Nigel Farley & Marc Rogers... Pig captain Steve Moore restored the Pig's lead beating Marc Ellis Cooper in the battle of the captains...This left young Mr Hayward and Shaun Diamond to battle it out for the spoils. At this point in the match I bet Mr Farley £5 that Shaun would win the frame he eagerly accepted... I can still see the horror in his face when he was told Mr Hayward was also called Shaun... never mind Nigel... Thanks for the beer!!!!! Shaun Diamond went on to take the frame with an excellent black against a very unlucky Shaun Hayward.....

League One:-- Rileys Elite And the Hare & Hounds were the only top league teams playing his week.. so they played twice.... Rileys Elite winning the first match 6 - 4 before  drawing the second 5 a piece.....

10th August 2007

Singles draw now on line.... Thanks to Chucky & Marc Ellis Cooper for doing the draw.....

30th July 2007

League One:-- The Royal Oak 'A' ended Rileys Rovers unbeaten start to the season with an empathetic 8 - 2 victory. Ant Tedds started the onslaught after his opponent missed a relatively simple black for a break dish.. This slice of luck seemed to inspire the Oak as Tedds, Tom Smee, Lenny Sharpe and Graham Proctor all won two frames each with Paul Webb the only winner for a very poor Rileys side... Their more illustrious 'B' team also won to move 6 points clear at the top. Ben Gilbey and Chick Randle starring for them..

League Two:-- The Co-op Clowns maintained their lead in League Two after drawing with the (surprise surprise) Pig & Whistle... It was the Pigs fourth draw in five matches. Not for the first time this season the Pig got to five frames first but couldn't capitalise... This time letting a 5 - 2 lead slip away... The chasing pack is now lead by the Fir Tree who eased passed the Rose Inn 7 - 3.. Andy Swann, Chris Lackenby and Steve Berry all winning two a piece with the Rose Inn's Nigel 'van damme' Farley winning two frames for the Coton Roaders.. The Coniston continued their good run of form with a 7 - 3 win at the Hare & Hounds, Lewis Geddes, Nathan Boughtflower and Nick Conner all on cue for the Conny.

24th July 2007

League One:-- The Royal Oak 'B' tasted defeat for the first time in 2 seasons as Rileys Rovers continued their fine start to the season. The Rovers had the Tamworth connection to thank again especially Steve Tedds who was on cue producing some remarkable pool... Paul Willis showed his still a force notching a double for the Oak... Elsewhre the Royal Oak 'A' beat the Hare & Hounds 'A' 6 - 4 with Ant Tedds maintaining his 100% record ...Rileys 'A' made the short trip to play Rileys Elite and came away with a narrow 6 - 4 victory.... Chucky on song for the Elite with Sean Orr & Karl White leading the way for the 'A' team..

League Two:-- The Co-op went 8 points clear with a magnificent 8 - 2 hammering of the Rose.... Dave Rollason, Mark Banks and Danny Barr all on fire for the Clowns.... The Fir Tree remain second despite going down 6 - 4 to a rejuvenated Hare & Hounds 'B' who move into third spot. They sit a point clear of The Pig & Whistle won lost to the Coniston 6 - 4 this week.....

17th July 2007

League One:-- The all conquering Royal Oak 'B' caught the eye this week, dismantling a highly competitive Rileys 'A' side 8 - 2.... This sends out a message to the would be contenders of catch us if you can.... John Martin, Andy Bassett and Ben Gilbey were all on cue with two wins a piece with singles from Paul Willis and Chick Randle... Andy Yearby and Steve 'The Stick' Self notching for Rileys.... Rileys Rovers meanwhile continued their steady progress with another 6 - 4 victory with Keith 'The Mank' Garner and Lee Steptoe staring.... Rileys Elite won their first match of the league season thumping The Royal Oak 'A' 7 - 3... Neil Goodwin and Ian 'Swerve' Worthington securing rare doubles for Chuck's troops....

League Two:-- The Co-op remain top after a great comeback against the out of sorts Coniston.... The 'Conny' were 5 - 2 up thanks to Curtis Shirley & Nick Conner before Steve 'The Claw' Blakemore sparked an amazing recovery with some scintillating pool... This seemed to inspire the Co-op so Simon Snounou & Sean Livock duly took the next two frames for a share of the points....Both 'Snozzer' & The Claw winning two frames each... Elsewhere draw specialists the Pig & Whistle were at it again.. 3 matches 3 draws... This time it was the Fir Tree's turn to draw with the Pig... To be fair though the Abbey Street boys did try their hardest to draw.. after to going 5 - 3 up they put Rizz and Bish on for the last two... Bound to be a draw then...Martin Paul & Steve Berry as expected took both for the Arley cueists...The Hare & Hounds 'B' climbed of the bottom thanks to a 6 - 4 victory over the Rose Inn... Adam Host the star for the Harun with Kyle Allen also on fire for the Rose winning both his frames including a seven baller....

9th July 2007

Sorry there was no report.....Some teams won... some drew and one or two lost.... Thank you

29th June 2007

The Rose Inn put in an eye catching display during the latest round of the T.F.S sponsored Super Sunday Pool League. The Coton Roaders were on cue to beat the Coniston 6 – 4 ending a run of fifteen matches without a win. The 'Conny' started well taking the first frames before Marc Rogers, Nigel Farley and Marc Ellis Cooper put the Rose 3 – 1 up. The stunned Coniston responded well though with Kelvin Tedds and Nathan Boughtflower levelling the score at three apiece. Any ideas the Conny had of a comeback were quickly quashed as the dynamic duo of Rogers and Farley won their second frames of the evening to put the Rose 5 – 3 up. Staring a shock defeat in the face the St Nick lads turned to their star man Tedds, he duly obliged to pull them to within one frame of a draw. But in a tense nip and tuck final frame it was the Rose’s Michelle Orton who held her nerve to clinch the match with a super finish earning her team a well deserved victory. Elsewhere in League Two it was draw city. The Fir Tree held leaders Co-op thanks to a last frame win from Chris Lackenby. The Hare & Hounds ‘B’ also secured a fine draw against the Pig & Whistle thanks to Richard Foran and St John Daniels who took the final two frames for the Harun.

In League One the reigning champions Royal Oak ‘B’ maintained their unbeaten start to the season beating the Hare & Hounds ‘A’ 7 – 3. Even the ‘Great Chicken Randle notched two wins ably assisted by Andy Basett... They are seven points clear of the Royal Oak ‘A’ who came back from 4 – 1 down to beat Rileys ‘A’ 6 – 4. Rileys captain for some strange reason left Karl White out of the second section, must of thought they’d won, how wrong they were. Wins from Daz Pateman, Lenny Sharpe, Tom & Roger Smee and Graham Proctor made Rileys pay for their mistake. Rileys Rovers pot their way into third place thanks to a 6 – 4 victory over Rileys Elite. The Elite were 4 – 3 up with Chucky Fowler in an extremely strong position, but the wheels fell off as they normally do with the Chuckster and the Mank made him pay. Now with the scores level Rovers upped their game with Al Jones and Steve Tedds taking the last two frames for a hard fought 6 – 4 victory.

Report to follow shortly.... Tables have been updated...

19th June 2007

The Royal Oak ‘B’ began their defence of the Super Sunday Pool League with a hard fought 6 – 4 victory over the Royal Oak ‘A’. The score however could and maybe should have been a lot different had the Oak ‘A’ made the most of several good chances they had to cause an upset. Daz Pateman and Lenny Sharpe had given them the perfect start before the ever reliable Any Bassett pulled a frame back for the B team. Tom Smee extended the A teams lead with a superb clearance against the 'Great' Chicken Randle. Col 'Shakin' Richards celebrating his 25th year on the pool scene and John Martin both won for the ‘B’ to level the scores. Pateman took his second frame of the evening to edge the Oak ‘A’ in front. But the failure to take their chances finally cost the A team as both Sharpe and Roger Smee missed good opportunities to see the game out before Bassett, Ben Gilbey and Richards showed them the way taking the last three frames for he reigning champions. In League Two the relegated Coniston were hoping to be on cue to make a quick return to the top flight but the Fir Tree reminded them how tough this division would be.  The Arley potters soon had the Conny in trouble taking six of the first 8 frames before running out 7 – 3 victors. Most of the damage being done by Andrew Swann and Steve Berry; the Fir Tree remain the dark horses in this division. Meanwhile title favourites Co-op were in fine form beating an under strength Hare & Hounds ‘B’ 9 -1. Richard Foran saving the Harun’s blushes beating Steve 'The Claw' Blakemore. In the other match a rejuvenated Rose Inn held the Pig and Whistle to a fine draw. Marc Ellis Cooper playing a captains innings taking both his frames for the Rose as did Ian Bishop for the Pig including a 7 baller of Mick Moss.

9th June 2007

The new got under way with the first matches in the Dave Cooper Challenge Trophy... Pool 1 saw newly formed Rileys Rovers beat the Harun 'B' 7 - 3 with a nice break dish from Mark Chapman in the 3rd frame... Harun 'A' produced the performance of the night beating group favourites Rileys 'A' 6 - 4.... In Pool 2 the Royal Oak 'A' eased to a 9 - 1 victory of the Rose Inn.. The Oak 'B' received a 10 - 0 over the non showing Coniston... who we later learned didn't know there was a game... Nice one Bob!!! In Pool 3 the same can't be said of Bye Bye cup holders Rileys 'B' who just couldn't be arsed to turn up... Not good enough Pig & Whistle receive a 10 - 0 and Rileys await their punishment... in the other game the Co-op and the Fir Tree shared the ten frames.....

28th May 07

Bye Bye Cup: Rileys 'B' took the Bye Bye cup last night with some outstanding pool.... rubbish positional shots but it didn't matter thanks to some great potting..... Chuckies men beat Rileys 'A' 5 - 2 and the Royal Oak 'B' 4 - 3  with Ian 'Swerve' Worthington the man of the tournament with 5 wins from 5 matches... ably assisted by Paul Gibbs and Icky Singh, Icky won the final frame with a great black after a somewhat crap positional shot...nothing new there then...   Earlier they'd won group 3 beating Hare & Hounds 'A' 4 - 3 before easing past Eliotts 'B' 5 - 2 in the group play off... In group 1 Rileys 'A' beat Royal Oak 'A' 5 - 2 then edged past a spirited Fir Tee 4 - 3.... Group 2 saw the Royal Oak ' B' beat Rose 'B' 6 - 1 with the Rose frame coming from Harla Farley who beat Dave 'Dodgy' Alsop.... they then beat Eliotts 'A' 5 - 2 in the group play off...... Thanks to all the teams that took part for a very entertaining night out... also many thanks to Rileys for putting up with us... and lastly well done to Rileys 'B' for winning the cup......A proper report and photos will follow..

24th May 07

League Cup: The Royal Oak 'B' clinched their second double in as may season's with a comfortable 6 - 2 victory over Rileys 'A' in the League Cup final. Karl Knight, John Martin and Andy Bassett eased the Oak into a 3 nil lead in what could have turned into a very one sided affair, but Rileys responded, and took the next two frames through Karl White and Rich Moore. With the game now evenly balanced the Oak turned to Colin Taylor.. no sorry Dennis Richards... urmm.. Right Colin Richards, he rolled back the years with a sublime performance to put the Oak 2 clear with four to play.... Rileys now had too dig deep but could't find a spade as Knight and Bassett closed out the match for the Oak. How Rileys must have wished Chicken Randle had been available for the Oak... Final Score Oak 6 Rileys 2

Rose Bowl: The Rose bowl was also a one sided affair as The Fir Tree shot the Hare & Hounds away with some scintillating pool... Pete Wildig, Chris Lackenby and Andy Swann put the Tree 3 up in no time... The stunned Harun had legend Nigel Griffiths on next and he didn't disappoint pulling a frame back... any thoughts of a comeback by the Harun were quickly dashed as Steve Berry was on cue to extend the Arley's boys lead... The Harun again called on Griff, who once more closed the gap with a stunning display... But the Fir Tree wouldn't be denied and Martin Paul took them to the brink before Wilf took his second frame and the all important 6 frame of he night.... Final Score Fir Tree 6 Hare & Hounds 'A' 2...........

16th May 07

15th May 07

League Cup: There were no upsets as both semi finals went with the form book... The Royal Oak 'B' proved to strong for Eliotts 'B' who to be fair squandered  several good chances during the match... Also it's a shame a player can only play twice, Eliotts must have wished Johnny Martin could have played 'The Great' 'Chicken' Randle six times...  As it was he could only play twice so the Oak ran out  comfortable 6 - 2 winners.. Eliotts frames coming from Jona and Sam Howkins who cleared like Chick00 use to (apparently)... In the other Semi Rileys 'A' went pot mad leaving the Conny no real chances...

Rose Bowl: The Fir Tree didn't waste much time in beating the Rose 6 - 1... The score line suggests it was a one sided affair but the Rose didn't capitalise on their chances....The Rose victory coming from their best player this season Rob 'Bobo' Orton.... In the other semi the Hare & Hounds 'A' edged their 'B' team 6 - 2.....

11th May 07

Cup draws are on line....

10th May 07

League Cup: Royal Oak 'B' pot there way into the semi finals with a comfortable win over the Rose 'A'... Oak 'A' couldn't emulate the 'B' side going down in a close match 6 - 4 to Rileys 'A'... The quickest match of he round saw the Conny gain a walk over against the non showing Rileys 'B'.... Eliotts 'B' fly the flag for League Two just edging the Pig & Whistle 6 - 4....

Rose Bowl: The Hare & Hounds 'A' produced the goods at the right time coming back from 3-0 down to beat Eliotts 'A' 6 - 4... They were joined in the semi's by their 'B' side who beat the Haunchwood 6 - 0 with a fine display of potting...

17th April 07

I'm still waiting for some score sheets... could you please get them to me ASAP..... many thanks

League One: With only one result in yet all I can say is Rose Inn beat Royal Oak 'A' 6 - 4.... Both the Steve's Huxley and Cooper winning two frames....

League Two: The top two tangled at Eliotts this week with the Harun 'A' needing a 7 - 3 victory to snatch the title from Eliotts 'B'... Alas this proved too hard a task even for the likes of Phil Sayer (who won both frames) Andy West ( who didn't) and Bill Brown. The Harun even brought Griff out to play... but to know avail as the old heads of Eliotts took the frames they needed to secure the title, both teams however clinched promotion into the big league next season.....

Bye Bye Cup: The inform team of League Two the Pig & Whistle 'A' found Rileys to good on the night  going down 6 - 4 and 13 - 7 on aggregate despite a double from Malc Ashby......

9th April 07

Message to all teams---- On April 15th their is now a league match this is the match that was cancelled on March 11th.... Your fixture sheets will say you have a cup game... Well the 1st Round of the cup is now on Sunday April 29th... Thanks Bob... no really thanks Bob......

3rd April 07

League One: With the Royal Oak 'B' on Bye Bye Cup duty it was a chance for the others to close the gap...Second placed Rileys 'A' eased to a 6 - 4 victory over Eliotts 'A' with Sean Orr maintaining his chances of the averages title with a fine double win...Royal Oak 'A' remain third after their 5 all  draw with fourth place Rileys 'B'... Elsewhere the Rose Inn 'A' spanked the Coniston 9 - 1

League Two: The Pig & Whistle were at it again this week... They made the short trip down Abbey Street and trounced the previously unbeaten league leaders Eliotts 'B' 8 - 2... The Pigs were all in superb form... even UFO was awesome.... Its just a shame Bish weren't there or we'd have got a couple more frames.... The Fir Tree made short work of the Rose Inn 'B' overpowering them 9 - 1... It could have been worse for the Rose if the fifth player had turned up on time!!!!!

Bye Bye Cup: The Royal Oak 'B' beat the Hare & Hounds 'A' 6 - 4 to keep alive their hopes of an unprecedented treble this season...

29th March 07

League Cup draw is now on line.....

20th March 07

League One: Rileys 'A' pot their to a very creditable draw against champions elect Royal Oak 'B'... After giving the Oak a two frame start due to a lack of players Rileys took five of eight they played with captain Carl 'Haystacks' Smith on cue with a fine double...But the result leaves them 23 points adrift of the Oak in 2nd place..... Rileys 'B' lost 6 - 4 to the Rose as did the Coniston to the Royal Oak 'A'...

League Two: The Pig & Whistle all but ended the Hare & Hounds 'A' chances of the title with a rousing performance, beating the Heath End Roaders 6 - 4.... Mick Golby & David Fletcher the top Pigs on the night.... (never mind Bish!!)... The Fir Tree consolidated their mid table position with a comfortable 7 -3 victory over the Hare & Hounds 'B'  Steve Berry and 'Wilf' the men on form for the Tree... Rose 'B' clinched their first win of the season at the expense of the non showing and very drunk Haunchwood boys...

Bye Bye Cup: Eliotts 'B' showed there 'A' team how to pot in one of the most entertaining matches of the season...

4th March 07

Tables updated....report will follow

19th February 07

League One: Leaders Royal Oak 'B' were given a scare by the Rose Inn 'A' this week. The Coton Roaders stormed into a 3 - 1 with Austin, Brown and Huxley on cue. Ben Gilbey steadied the ship for the Champions.... then is was business as usual as the Oak reeled off the next 5 frames without reply for a resounding 7 - 3 victory..... I'm not sure but I think there'll win the league again this year.... Rileys 'A' stay second but lost ground again after a 5 all draw with the Coniston Pouches... It could have been so different for Rileys.. they were leading 5 - 1 with 'The Stick'  Sean Orr plus the dynamic duo of 'Haystacks' and 'Mushy' still to play... surely a 7 - 3 was on the cards but The Pouches had other ideas and reeled off 4 in a row to clinch the draw... thanks to Lewis Geddes, Kelvin Tedds, Nick Conner and Nath Boughtflower.... The other game saw Eliotts 'A' get a right thumping off the Royal Oak 'A' 8 - 2..... Scott Waring and Tom Smee each winning both there frames for the Oak..... the reliable Barnett and Snounou on the board for Eliotts.....

League Two: Eliotts 'B' and the Harun 'A' both won 7 - 3 so 4 points still separate them... The Harun's B side were all out to do there A team a favour and started well but the run of the balls really did favour Eliotts... it was closer than the score line suggests meanwhile the Harun 'A' stormed in to a 4 - 0 lead before Marc Hazzard put the Rose on the scoreboard beating Bill Brown... 4 - 1 soon turned in to 7 - 1 with Sayer, West and Brown winning... Kyle Allen and Captain Michelle Orton took the last 2 frame for the Rose to make the score line a little more respectable..... Elsewhere the Pig & Whistle drew 5 all with the Fir Tree.... the Arley boys were 5 - 3 up with 2 to play but Mick Golby and Steve Moore took the last two frames for the Abby Street potters...

Bye Bye Cup: Haunchwood lost to Rileys 'B' .. thanks

P.S..... Can I just thank everyone for handing in their scorecards so promptly.... its superb unlike the Thursday league... many thanks..

All tables have been updated..... Report to follow.......

Important Message For All Teams... Due to a fixture alteration by the sports governing body (E.P.A.) there is now a fixture duplication.. So please note that all league and Bye Bye Cup matches that were originally scheduled for Sunday 25th March will now be played on Sunday March 18th... There is now an Interleague fixture on the Sunday 25th March... Many thanks....

25th January 07

Message To All Players & Alwyn... The Sunday Committee have received several requests from Interleague players concerning the Singles competition. It is felt that as over 75 players now represent the Town as part of Four teams that the Singles comp will be under subscribed (Not many entrants)... In order for the league to remain solvent we need to ensure that both the Singles & Doubles competitions cover the prize money to be paid out. Therefore after some thought we have decided to hold two tournaments for all league players at the end of the season..... watch this space....

22nd January 07

League One: Rileys 'A' maintained their 100% record with an impressive 8 - 2 victory over Eliotts 'A'.... The Abbey street side had no answer to the potting ability of the Rileys cue-man... 'Haystacks' marked his first double of the season with the now customary phone call to his mum... Every time I mention someone is top of the averages they seem to suffer a dip in form....so I wont mention you Sean ok...Elsewhere the Rose 'A' continued there rich vein of form beating the Coniston Pouches 6 - 4... Steve Cooper & Rich Austin the men on cue for the Coton Roaders & The Royal Oak 'A' beat Rileys 'B' 7 - 3 with Roger Smee and Johnny Waring the men on form...

League Two: Eliotts 'B' returned to top spot with an effortless 8 -2 victory over the Pig & Whistle... Only Ian Bishop offered any real resistance for the home side putting in yet another cultured display with his cue... some say it's a wand as he weaves his magic over he green baize (that's gotta be worth a beer Bish).... The Fir Tree beat the Rose 'B' 7 - 3 to maintain their mid table spot landlord Pete Wildig plus Andrew Swan winning two apiece.. In the other match the Haunchwood edged out the Hare & Hounds 'B' 6 - 4 with D. Tring taking the last frame at the expensive of Martin Biddle...

Bye Bye Cup: The Royal Oak 'B' entertained the Hare & Hounds 'A' in a classic match up.. The Harun got of to a flier as Big Geoff Southall amazingly took out The Vard before the legends of past & present Kev Bennett & Karl Knight put the Oak 2-1 up. Up next for the Harun though was the flamboyant pot machine.. no.. no.. sorry it was Andy West, he couldn't stop the rot with 'Digger' soon putting him to bed without his Coco.. but Phil 'The Till' Sayer cut the deficient to one frame again with another tidy performance. Enter a freshly revived Andy West, he wasted no time in stuffing the Chicken (Sorry). With the match poised at 3 all the Oak were able to do want no other team can do and call on the 'Fab Four' whose combined age couldn't be calculated by a team of mathematicians we hired from Oxford University...needless to say Berty, Col Richards, Ade Pinneger Snr and Dodgy took the next four frames with ease to leave the Harun needing a minor miracle in the return leg........

9th January 07

League One: Royal Oak 'B' opened up a massive 20 point lead over their rivals when beating Eliotts 'A' 7 - 3. Captain Johnny Martin break-dishing on his way to a double win, but Colin 'Shakin' Richards took the limelight, as his double secured him top spot in the league averages...Not bad for an old timer.. hey Col... Rileys 'A' remained in second place despite playing in the Bye - Bye Cup this week. Their 'B' side moved third after a tight 6 - 4 verdict at the Conny, Ian Dagnan bringing home the bacon much to the delight of captain Chucky Fowler... The other match saw the Royal Oak 'A' draw 5 apiece with The Rose 'A' with young Tom Smee catching the eye with a good double....

League Two: The Hare & Hounds 'A entertained league leaders Eliotts 'B' in a classic game...what a hugely enjoyable night.... my thanks to all the Harun players for a superb night... oh Andy, thanks for kicking the wall, how funny was that?.. Oh and it was a draw... Jase Page & Chicco notching two wins apiece for the visitors...  Phil Sayer also claimed a double which put him top of the League Two averages.. The Hare & Hounds 'B' notched their first win of the season over the yet to win Rose 'B' 7 - 3. This despite a very rare... well never heard of double win for Rob 'Bobo' Orton..... In the other match the Fir Tree beat the Haunchwood 7 - 3 as they try to keep pace with the front three....

Bye Bye Cup:  The Pig & Whistle made the short trip in to town hopeful of a repeat cup victory over Rileys 'A', alas it wasn't to be as the hosts proved far too strong for the visitors... Although Steve 'UFO' Cotton produced a stunning exhibition of cue power during his victory over Mushy...

7th January 07

We return to league action today so happy potting..... If you've not entered the singles competition yet but wish to please contact Bob or Al in the next week or so..... The first round is on 28th January.......

3rd January 07

All the Tables and results have been updated since the last matches. We just never did a report.... that's why some of you though this bit had not been updated.... Sorry... Could of clicked on the tables and took a look... Wouldn't have hurt now would it.. my my ...What's up have to wait for me to tell you to have a look...oh righto'....... Oh nearly forgot HAPPY NEW YEAR

28th November

League One: Rileys A have narrowed the gap on title hopefuls Royal Oak B to just 7 points. This follows their 6 – 4 victory at League One new boys Coniston Pouches! The league leaders were lucky to muster a draw against a gritty Rose Inn A side, whose lowly position belies their true ability. The other Oak team played host to Eliotts A but try as they might this ding dong battle failed to produced a winner as both teams had to be content with a share of the spoils...

League Two: The Pig & Whistle benefited from the Fir Tree’s inability to field a team and as such receive a 6 – 0 walkover. League leaders Eliotts B entertained the Hare and Hounds B and ran out comfortable winners 8 – 2. Martin Biddle’s form deserted him this week for the visitors. Fortunately his team mate and doubles partner Nixon produced some magic and bewildered Jason Page to take one frame. The other success saw St John Daniels produce a miracle display to put pay to the challenge of Sean Livock. The Hare & Hounds A consolidated their position and remain in the hunt for honours as they managed to sneak a 6 – 4 win against Rose Inn B

Bye Bye Cup: Rileys 'B' proved to strong for a spirited Haunchwood side and ran out 7 - 3 winners...

14th November

League One: Following on from the demolition last week of their own A team, by a 9 – 1 margin, the Royal Oak B made few mistakes again against Rileys B. Successes for Swerve & a double from Ian Dagnan made this not a totally wasted trip for the town centre team. The mighty Oak B look to have set their stall out in their defence of last season’s title and the quality throughout their side will no doubt prove very difficult to beat. After last weeks postponed fixture, due to November 5th celebrations, Rileys A produced their very own dazzling display when confronted with a disappointing Rose Inn A team. The only blot on Rileys copybook came courtesy of Mr McClaughlin being 'mushed' by Steve Huxley. The only other clash in the league was a battle between the two promoted teams last term. The honours fell to Coniston All Stars who dished out an 8 – 2 thumping against Eliotts A. This win puts them level on points with their opponents for the evening but they already have a game in hand.

League Two: The Pig & Whistle take top spot after their 9 – 1 mauling of ‘happy go unlucky’ Rose Inn B. Nestled in behind are Eliotts B who beat the Coton Roaders by the same margin last week. Their trip to the Fir Tree was not as productive as they may have hoped but this was down to very steady opposition from the Old Arley team. The Hare & Hounds A enjoyed blistering success last week against their B team winning 9 – 1 but their trip to Haunchwood sports proved a little more testing. Haunchwood raced off to a 3 – 0 lead before Mick McCool, Bill Brown & Phil ‘The Till’ Sayer remarkably levelled matters. Tring and  Gaz Mangnall took the Haunchwood to the brink but they were not able to find the final winning frame. Andy West, it has to be said, was incredibly lucky to sneak his frame before Bill Brown won his second of the night to secure a share of the spoils.

Bye Bye Cup: A double by the Potting Pugilist Paul Webb helped Royal Oak A to a convincing 8 -2 victory against the Hare & Hounds B in the Bye Bye Cup. The only response for the Heath End Road side came from an ever improving Martyn Biddle who won both frames for his team. With League averages being monitored closely this season, Biddle’s evident ability cannot be ignored when the towns teams are picked for next seasons Interleague.

7th November

LEAGUE ONE: Champions Royal Oak 'B' began the defence of their title with an emphatic 9-1 victory over a new look Royal Oak 'A'….It looks like they'll be the team to beat again this season…The only other result  of the evening in the top flight saw newly promoted Eliotts A get their campaign off to a winning start with a 6-4 result at the Rose…. It might have been a different story if the Rose hadn't played an illegal player despite having this pointed  out to them before the match. But they chose to play him anyway and have suffered the consequences with a total match reversal and a 10 point deduction. Not the best start to a season. The Derby match between Rileys 'A' & 'B' was postponed due to bonfire night arrrrrrrr…...

LEAGUE TWO: Most players think the Hare & Hounds 'A' will make a quick return to the big league and they justified this confidence with a 9 - 1 thumping of the newly formed Hare & Hounds 'B'…. It had started do well for the Harun 'B' when Adam Host got them off to the best possible start beating legend Geoff Southall in the first frame….alas this would be their last frame of the night, as there more illustrious 'A' team proved far too strong…. The other relegated side the Anker now playing as Eliotts 'B' also got off to a great start beating the Rose Inn 'B' 9-1… the score line flatters Eliotts though, as missed blacks by the Rose proved very costly.  However all present were treated to a sublime demonstration in the art of potting the Black by Bob Jefferies and The Fear (his trusty cue) in the fifth frame…dreadful positioning but what a black….The other game saw Haunchwood fail to turn up at the Pig & Whistle gifting there hosts a 6 - 0 victory… although Steve Cotton's name was on the sheet; so it might become 5 - 1….

BYE-BYE CUP: The Coniston entertained the Fir Tree in the first tie of the season and proved to good for the Tree boys running out 7 - 3 winners.......

The event saw many of the top local players turn out an try to grab the £100 first prize.... they produced some scintillating pool through out the night... It was left to Steve 'The Stick' Self to save the best till last. Playing team mate Karl White in the final 'The Stick' won the toss , elected to break and promptly cleared the table in fine fashion...... A fitting end to a great night of pool.... Well done Stick......

9th October

League Cup:-- Royal Oak 'B' Out potted there 'A' team to secure a league & cup double last night in a keenly contested final. The 6-2 score line somewhat flattered the Oak 'B' as some frames were very close...but at the end of the day they potted 6 blacks the Oak 'A' didn't (jammy f*$%£*s)....

Rose Bowl:-- The Pig & Whistle proved to strong for The Haunchwood even though they had the legendary Dave (very dodgy) Alsop in their ranks....

League Two:-- The Coniston 'B' took the title with another excellent display beating third placed Fir Tree 7 - 3 in the final league match of the season... Well done to the Conny lads ..... Sadly though Kelvin Tedds defeat by S.Berry hands the League Two Average Title to Paul Barnett of Eliotts well done Paul!!!

League Cup:-- Royal Oak 'A' fielded a very strong side and overwhelmed Rileys Bentley Coniston Road 'A' 'B' 6 - 2 ... The Rose 'A' went 5 - 3 up but lost to the Royal Oak 'B' in a play off. Johnny Martin beating young Steve Cooper... better luck next time chaps

Rose Bowl:-- The Clueless sorry cue less Pig & Whistle finally managed to get hold of a cue for this match and powered to a 6- 2 victory over the Hare & Hounds who to be fair were missing a couple of good players and Andy West.... The all League Two semi saw the Haunchwood beat the Wheatsheaf in a very tight affair......

On the league front the Rose 'A' maintained their League One status with a five all draw with champions Oak 'B'....this result relegates the Hare & Hounds along with he Anker....... Just proves how strong the league is as both teams have some quality players.. don't they! Well bob said they did... oh well... The outlook for the promoted two next season is as follows... The Coniston 'B' are a good side but my find it hard going next season as for Eliotts well there be hoping for a good cup run....

27th September

Congratulations to the Royal Oak 'B' who have won League One with a game in hand. The Royal Oak 'A' take the runners up spot with Rileys third. Oak 'B' captain John Martin also wins League One's Averages.... League Two is still to be decided but the Coniston 'B' only need 1 frame from their final match against the Fir Tree to clinch the title. So with this in mind well done to the Conny lads. Eliotts pushed them hard all season and take a fine second place with the Fir Tree in third. Unless the Fir Tree win 10-0 then it's ... Well done to Eliotts winners of League Two...I'll shut up now...

26th September

Cup Draw's now on line... each semi final will be played at a neutral venue with the teams being put down on separate score sheets........

25th September

Cup favourites Royal Oak 'B' crush Eliotts 6-1... The Oak 'A' also make the last four, but are made to dig deep against the Conny 'B' had the Conny lads taken their chances it could have been a different story... The Rose 'A' gained revenge over the Fir Tree, the Tree boys knocked the Rose out of the Bye Bye cup in a play off but this time Andy Yearby was on Cue to win the play off to put the Coton Roaders through. The last place in the semi's was taken by the Conny 'A'/Bentley Road/Rileys 'B' the match broke off late as the Anker were unsure where there opponents were playing from!! But Chuckey's boys delivered the goods proving too strong for The Anker................ In the Rose Bowl, Tony's boys went out 6-5 to the Wheatsheaf with L.Paget the man on cue in the play off out potting Marc Ellis Cooper.... The Pig & Whistle also went through via a play off at the expense of Rileys.........
