The form book was
ripped up and thrown out the window when the Pig & Whistle and the Hare &
Hounds 'A' met in the final of the Rose Bowl. The Harun had already beat the
Pig 9 - 1 & 7 - 3 in the league and must have thought it was going to be a
quick night. Well they were right about the quick night bit.. The Harun
started like the favourites they were Dave 'Buck' Rogers putting them one
up.. But it all started to go wrong from this point as the Pig boys rolled
back the years. Firstly Ian Bishop drew the Pig level then Malc Ashby and
Dave Fletcher produced the goods to put the Pig 3 - 1 in front... Captain
Steve Moore was up next he playing his former team mate Andy West... 4 - 1
with Moore in inspired form... Steve Ridsdale then took the 6th frame before
Andy West stopped the rot for the Harun... Even at 5 - 2 down the Harun new
that had the players to snatch a draw and maybe a play off win, but the Pig
wouldn't lie down and Malc Ashby cleared well to take the all important
sixth frame they needed for the victory...
