Super Sunday Pool League

Rileys Rovers retained the Dave Cooper Challenge Trophy with a tight 6 - 4 victory over the Royal Oak 'B'. Mark Chapman put Rovers in front only for Ben Gilbey to level the tie with a nice finish. Lee Steptoe then got the better of Paul Willis to put Rileys back in front. Andy Bassett & Mark Gaynor then bored everyone to death with the most drab frame of pool in modern history.. In fact the frame took that long Oak captain Ade Pinnegar grew his hair back.. (See Pic).. We are always blaming Ade Pinnegar for being the slow one when him & Bert play in the doubles after this frame that could change..  Anyway at this point I was now fast asleep.. Good news though Ade promised not to put him on again because Rileys close at midnight... Col Richards then showed Berty how to win a tactical frame the easy way.. one set of two shots and clear the table....Halfway stage 3 - 2 to the Oak... Steppy drew the sides level beating young James Willis who let Steppy off the hook after playing an excellent frame.. Neil Randle eased the Oak back in front before Chappers beat Willis senior to again level the scores... Paul Webb then 7 balled Gilbey to put Rovers 5 - 4 up, potting an excellent black out of a snooker...Needing the final frame to draw level the Oak had the experienced Rich Mills on, he was clearing well but missed his last ball, leaving a chance for Steve 'Rev Stick' Self  who went to the table and promptly cleared, to clinch the Trophy for Rileys Rovers once again.
