It was confirmed that there would be a New Black Ball league starting on Sunday nights and it would be a separate league and committee. The only connection would be Alun Jones doing the fixtures so that fixtures don’t clash, Alun also will continue allowing the league to use (his) website for a small fee yet to be confirmed.

It was also agreed that a player registering and playing in old rules could not play in both leagues.

It was also agreed that the Old Rules league would always remain Old Rules and can never be changed, if someone wants to change the Rules then they need to set up a new league as this will always be OLD RULES League.

Rule Proposals and results

1. A Blackball league to run alongside the old rules league- giving venues with one table the availability to have a team in both leagues.

Result – As per EGM the only link is Alun doing the fixtures and NO player can play in both leagues including singles etc.

2. All Players are able to attend an AGM and have a vote.

Result- For 29 against 3, all players can now attend an AGM.

3. Minimum of 24 hours’ notice to cancel a match

Result- For 29 Against 0, Minimum 24hrs to cancel a game.

3a. Any cancelled matches must be played within 4 weeks of cancellation, or the committee will award the game to the team that didn't cancel.

Result For 30 Against 1, slight amendment or played by the first gap week after the cancelled match.

Format to be changed to 6 singles and 3 doubles giving a winner outcome.

Result – everyone against so format stays the same 6 singles 2 doubles.

4a. 1 point for frame won and 2 points for a win.

Result – not voted on as above point voted against.

4b. If the format does not get voted for change a black ball shoot out to be played by 5 players.

Result – Voted against for 1 against 29

5.All Matches to start at 8pm start the first frame 8pm so at least first 4 players need to be placed on scorecard, following players to be added by 8.30pm

Result – For 28 against 3 games will now start at 8pm

6. League to be run over 12 months with all comps included within the season but allowing the Holiday season to have free weeks and no matches on bank holidays to save cancellations due to no available players.

Result – for 29 against 0

7.No Black ball nomination.

Result-For 3 Against 27 you have to nominate the black and the player must say which pocket they are going for and the ref must ask, NO player watching can tell the ref or player this is classed as couching.

7a. If this isn't voted, then responsibility is on the player to nominate not the ref to prompt the player.

Result - see above its down to player and ref.

7b. Player with 2 shots and free table that is on the Blackball DOES NOT need to nominate the black pocket if not attempting to play/pot it.

Result-if on the black you MUST always Nominate a pocket every shot.

9. If a foul is committed on the break only 1 shot is awarded.

Result- for 2 against 29 you still get two shots if a foul is committed on the break.

10. Blind draws for all matches not just the cups.

Result – draws stay as they are.

11. All new registered players' and fee must be paid by Saturday noon to be able to play on the Sunday.

Result – No you must give 7 days as per current rule.

12.All comp entries to be paid the week before the draw, this is on the players and captains to make sure not be chased by committee.

.Result – Must be paid at the start of season.

13. As long as Captains agree a player change can be made during the match in good sportsmanship, if a player becomes ill or has been noted they are not eligible to play as long as a reserve player has been present at the start of the match. If the non-eligible player has already played the frame and won only that frame will be awarded to the other team NOT the Match.

Result – stays as current rule.

14. If an appeal is submitted the captain of the team is to be present at the appeal meeting along with 2 random captains (not from the same division)

Result – was agreed also that the committee will look at any issues first and make a decision and the appeal must only via the captain in the captains WhatsApp chat.

15. Website to be updated with all AGM/EGM changes before the start of the new season.

Result- 100% agree.

15a All minutes from a meeting to be kept in a file and available to any registered player on request.

It was agreed to go back to having a proper presentation night with disco or band and food. As there is money in the bank and try to get sponsors.

We will look to start the league no later than start September, sooner if possible but we have a lot of work to do finding out who is putting team in, confirming with Alun Jones about fixtures and Website and cost. Gary ask everyone to work with us as it’s a new committee and a lot is going on.
