Nuneaton Town v Nuneaton Lions

Hare & Hounds was the venue for the Interleague match Nuneaton Lions versus the Nuneaton Town leftovers plus a few extras !!!  The Lions got off to a roaring start or rather 'had all the luck' as they went 5-0 up, before Martin Biddle performed brilliantly showing all his fine potting ability for the Town to finally stop the rot beating Sean Orr.  Joe Cooper put on a great performance in both his matches, although losing his first game against.Andy Yearby, the new recruit certainly showed fine form beating Baz Newnes in his second game.   Game 10 saw Icky Singh (who decided he was too good for the Town) get a pasting from Lee Howkins.  Oh well Icky, looks like you'll be dropped for the next game....shame !!!   The Biddle family performance continued in game 12 when Martin's brother, Michael Nixon left Andy Yearby almost in Tearby !!   The Lions continued to stretch the lead, and by the time game 13 came, the town pinned their hopes that the 'Gardener' would dig them out of this hole they were in.  With just two balls left and the black it looked like the town were in for a win, but it was not to be, even Alan Titchmarsh could have potted 'diggers' last two balls, leaving Steve Self to clear up nicely and a blushing Mick ‘digger’ Gardener looking like a right spade !!!  With just two games left, the score was 12-4, all the town team could do now was go for a second point by winning their last 2 games.  They got off to a great start when Mick 'cool' McCool 7 balled Berty Bassett, that just left 'Haystacks' to play the last game and try and win one more point.  Unfortunately, for the town it wasn't to be leaving the final score at 13-5.

Unlucky guys & gal..... next match away against Rileys 'A' which is the old Suzy Q's in Hertford Place Coventry. Now they beat the Top Guns 12 - 6 so we know they can play...so lets get some practise in!!!  lol...
