Warwickshire Youth v Northamptonshire Youth
It what has always been a
tough match its vital to get a good start, and the boys did just that.
We raced into a 3 - 0 lead before Northants got a frame on the board. We
then took another 3 in a row to got 6 - 1 up. Northants rallied a little
but we managed to take the first section 8 - 3.
4/4 - Luke Mills, Jamie
Hobby & Vivek Makh
3/4 - Phil Parkin
The second section saw
Northants come out firing on all cylinders but the lads took it in their
stride as they shared frames. But Northants eventually took the section 6 -
5.The third section
was more of the same as again Northants edge it 6 - 5 despite all the lads
performing well But we weren't at panic stations just yet as we still lead
18 - 15.
In the fourth and final
sections the lads were back on form taking it 6 -5 with Vivek Makh on cue to
take the wining frame. All in all a good team performance. Well done Lads!!!
Man if the Match Jamie
Hobby pictured with James Willis who was Man of the Match for the 'B'
side.

After the defeat to the 'A'
side in the first fixture of the year the boys second match of the season
came against a vey solid Northants line up.
The lads started well with
Steve Emms and Mathew Peel putting us 2 - 1 up. But Northants hit back
taking 7 of the next 8 frames with only James Willis on cue for the Bears.
So even with the score line 8 - 3 to Northants after the first section we
knew if the lads could settle down and take their chances we were still in
with a shout.
The second section started well
with Mathew Peel & James Willis winning again, Northants hit back but wins
from M.Meaney, Josh Griffiths, T.Woolman, D. Earles & Steve Martin saw us
take the section 7 - 4, to make it 12 - 10 to Northants at Half - Time.
We finally went down 27 - 17.
But it was a great fighting display from all the lads... Well Done to all..
Man Of the Match:-- James
Willis (Pictured above) 4 out of 4..
The third section saw Warwicks
struggle with only M. Meeney, J Willis & R. Stone taking their. This put us
20 - 13 down doing in to the last section. It now meant we needed to take 10
of the last 11 frame to win the match. The lads met the challenge full on,
playing their hearts out trying to overcome the deficit. But even though we
were firing on all cylinders and managed to take 4 of the first 5 frames
before Northants nicked the frame they needed to secure the match.
