The first away day of the year saw Warks travel to Milton Keynes to take on Buckinghamshire at the Herald Sporting Club.
The A team got off to a flyer by taking a 7-0 lead, but this swiftly disappeared as Bucks made it 7-7 and the 2nd section ended all square at 11 all.A complete F**k up in the 3rd section saw Warks A lose 9-2 to leave them trailing 20-13 going into the final section. They lost the final section 6-5 and with it the match – final scoreline bring 26-18 to Bucks A.
Karl Knight, Paul Willis and Rob Butterworth all won 3 out of 4 with Rob getting the nod for the player of the match trophy (see pic).
Team: Paul Willis, Karl Knight, Daz Lee, Scott Varden, Craig Sturmey, Rob Butterworth, Nige Griffiths, Andy West, Sam Mills, Roger hunt, Paul Mason and Baz Hinde.
Another tough task to pick a team of 11 from a squad of 19 for Dave Collins which meant a couple of players would be disappointed. The team struggled to come to terms with one of Buck’s tables and lost the 1st section 6-5 and there was a similar tale in the 2nd section which they also lost 6-5 to go into the 3rd section trailing 12-10.A couple of substitutions and a marked improvement by some players saw Warks B win 7-4 to go into the final section with a 17-16 lead. The score went to 18 apiece then Warks started to edge in front thanks to wins from Ben Deeley, Dave lea, Russ Harding and Phil Parkin who took the score to 22-18. Next frame saw Martin Groves get the match winner and Russ Blinco made the final score 24-20 to Warks.
There was a whole host of 3 out of 4’s from Dave Easson, Dave Lea, Phil Parkin, Martin Groves, Russ Blinco and Aaron Easson with Azza being given the Man of the match trophy by Bucks.

An uphill struggle for the Warwickshire ladies team as only 9 of them turned up to take Bucks Ladies.They lost the 1st section 9-2, the 2nd 8-3 and the 3rd 7-4 which basically was the match over, but to add insult to injury, Bucks won the final section 10-1 to rack up a 34-10 victory.
Kaite Bonham, Hazel Payne, Wendy Forde and Ali Wilkins all got 2 out of 4 with Katie being given the Player of the match award.
