Rules 2018 Season

General 

1.        Each Division will consist of 10 players. Unless we have 1 or 2 extra players then Divisions could be extended or shortened to suit.

2.    All matches to be played to the World Pool Rules. With the exception of the minute rule.

3.        All games to be played in a sportsman like manner (i.e. owning up to fouls committed)

4.    Each league match will consist of 8 frames. Cup matches will be played to a different format.

5.    The top three players in each league will be promoted and the bottom three players will be relegated. More players may be promoted as well as demoted if the league has to be restructured due to an odd amount of players joining.

6.    Entrance fee will be £35 a player. Plus an additional £5 if the players chooses to enter the Nuneaton Pool Trophy.

7.    The top three in each Division will win a cash prize. . (1st place – 50%, 2nd place – 30%, 3rd place – 20% of the total divisional take up to maximum of £350.

8.    Points will be awarded as follows 3 points for a win --- 1 point for a draw.

9.    Winning player to post result in the Facebook group Nuneaton Pool Singles League Results, in the event of a draw then the home player is to post result. Alternatively you can text your result to 07949 958056. 

Matches 

10.  Matches to be played at venues in the Nuneaton Pool League or in Nuneaton locality, the committee must be informed of a player’s venue. The home player is to accommodate the away player as in book table and pay any cost incurred.

11.  The fixture structure is now in 3 Phases. All 6 matches must be played within the 3 month period, no excuse for not playing will be accepted. If you are struggling to arrange a match contact your Divisional contact.

12.  It is the responsibility of the both players to contact each other to arrange a date for their match, if you are struggling to arrange a match let your Divisional contact know.

13.  Players can arrange to play their fixtures at any mutually agreed time in the scheduled Phase. They can also play them earlier if they so wish to.

14.  No Games will be carried over to the next phase unless mitigating circumstances arise. You need to message your Divisional contact if you are unable to fulfill your scheduled fixtures.

15.  If you don’t play a match in the scheduled phase and no players has contacted their divisional contact the game is null and void and will be scored as a nil-nil with no points issued.

16.  You are allowed to cancel a match but must give at least 24 hours notice. Unless mitigating circumstances arise.

17.  If a player hasn't got a good reason the committee can over rule this motion.

18.  If the reason is deemed to be a load of b*llocks the player will forfeit the match 8-0.

19.  Any player that arranges a match and doesn’t turn up will lose not only the match 8-0. They will also lose 5 points. You have been warned. If you arrange to play at least have the decency to turn up!! But if there are mitigating circumstances as to why the committee will rule on this when they have all the information.

20.  If your opponent has not turned up within 20 minutes of the time arranged for your fixture you are awarded the match and may leave the venue after informing your divisional contact.

21.  If a player has not played a match in a phase said player will be automatically kicked out of the league. Unless the committee have been informed of a good reason.

22.  If a player is kicked out or drops out in the first half of the season and hasn’t played all there first half games then all points are taken off. If they have played all their games however then the points shall remain. If a player drops out during the second half of the season then only first half results stand.

23.  If a player is kick out or drops out and wishes to re-enter the following season they will have to pay a £25 bond which will be refunded in full on completion of all their fixtures within the set dates.

24.  There will be a Cup competition within the season which is optional, an additional £5 entry fee with be needed to enter. There will also be a plate competition for losing of the first match in the main event.

25.  Cup matches with be races to 5 frames in the first round, races to 6 until the last four and then races to 7 frames. The plate competition will be races to 5 frame until the last four then race to 6 frames. 

26.  All extra monies accrued by the organisers will be added to the prize fund where the organisers deem appropriate.

27.  In the event of a player being tied on points, frame difference will come into force

28.  If still tied, games won will come into force

29.  If still tied, head to head between the players will come into force

30.  If still tied, frames won will come into force

31.  If still tied, a 7 frame play off will take place

32.  If you change your contact details you must contact everyone in your division to let them know. If a player is unable to contact you by the end of the month because you have changed your number and not told anyone then the match will be awarded 8 – 0 to your opponent.

33.  We as a league like to encourage youngsters to play the game but we understand some pubs will not allow them into their premises. If you are at home to an under aged player that isn't allowed in to the pub then you must move the game to another venue.

34.  The organisers reserve the right to change any rule at any time they feel will fully benefit the league.

35.  All players should keep their copy of the rules for reference.
